"Wow." SuHyun exclaimed as we both stepped out of the taxi.
"Are you sure this is the right address sir?" I asked the taxi driver skeptically when he got out of the driver's seat.
"I am sure." The taxi driver answered as he rounded and went to the trunk of his taxi to unload my luggage.
"Oh my gosh Hayi. How can you own such a huge house?!" SuHyun exclaimed excitedly as she bounced beside me.
"I don't really know why they gave this house to me. I mean, I'm still in college and I'm living alone so why the huge house? It will make feel more lonely." I stated with my low voice.
"Oh come on. Cheer up!" SuHyun said as she clung her arm with mine. "Aren't you happy your grandpa inherited you one of his properties?"
I paused for a second and smile crept to my face.
"You're right." I beamed at SuHyun. "I should be happy he still remembered me."
SuHyun paid the taxi driver and we both went inside the huge house.
My grandpa gave me this mansion and my other cousins also inherited some of his properties when he passed away last month.
SuHyun and I entered the house with the key my mom gave me.
SuHyun's my bestfriend and she's here to help me arrange my new house since she knew more about interior designs and I know nothing.
"I like it here." I said as we both entered the living room.
"I agree. But don't you think something's off?" SuHyun asked as she looked around the house.
"What?" I asked as I put my suitcase on the ground.
"The wallpapers looked so old and out of style." She answered as she pointed the walls with disgust in her face.
"That's the reason why I brought you here." I said as I walked around the house to check every room.
I went back to the living room where SuHyun is and she's now sitting on the couch.
"There's not much work I guess and I really think that wallpaper should be changed into something modern." I conclude as I stood in front of SuHyun.
"Told you." She winked at me and I rolled my eyes at her.
"So, what are we gonna do?" I asked enthusiastically.
"Let's rest first Hayi." SuHyun groaned loudly.
"No. We need to finish arranging this house because class will start in 2 days and I'm not planning on spending those two remaining days peeling off a wallpaper." I answered with my hands on my waist.
SuHyun groaned again but she stood up and walked lazily to the wall. I followed her with a huge smile on my face and started peeling the wallpaper with our bare hands. It's easy to pull off though so it didn't took much effort and time for us to finish peeling this before it gets dark.
"Hayi..." SuHyun called and she's squatting beside me to peel the lower part of the wall. "Look."
SuHyun stood up properly and I stopped peeling. I turned my attention to the piece of wallpaper she's holding before us.
"What?" I asked and looked at her with contorted face.
SuHyun suddenly paled and didn't utter a word.
"What is it SuHyun?" I asked again when she didn't respond.
"There's a name on this and a date." She said and her voice were so low and somewhat like shaking.
I took a look closer and saw a name and date written on the piece of paper.
I also looked at the peeled pieces and some of them have names and dates also but they're all different.
SuHyun grabbed her phone and called the police. I was busy picking up the pieces and collecting them while SuHyun was trembling in the corner.
"What do you think that is?" She asked between her silent sobs.
"I have no idea. It's just dates and names SuHyun, someone probably wrote that a long time ago and there's nothing to worry about."
"They're murder cases Hayi." I stopped reading the names when I heard SuHyun. "The names were the people he murdered and the dates were the day he murdered them."
I turned around and looked at SuHyun who's now shaking visibly.
"I recognized two people's names and they were murdered here on this town." She continued with her watery eyes.
"Geez SuHyun, stop watching murder cases already." I exclaimed and walked towards her.
She's sitting on the couch while sobbing silently. I sat beside her and embraced her.
"There's nothing to worry about." I cooed as I stroked her hair gently.
Not a long moment, the police came and they went inside the house.
I told them everything and they were examining the paper with names and dates one by one.
"My friend there told me this involves a murder case, is that true?" I asked the policeman in front of me.
"Yes." He answered as he studied a piece of a wallpaper in his hand.
"So what does that mean?" I asked again because I don't understand what's going on.
"This house had been a murderer's home and this, young lady, is not a wallpaper." He answered as he put the piece of paper in front of me. "You peeled this off that wall right?"
I nodded and glanced at SuHyun who's listening at our conversation intently.
"Why?" I asked as I looked back at the police officer.
I turned pale when he answered "It's not a wallpaper, these were skin of people."
