Light at the End of the Tunnel

This is the challenge for Underturtleboi! The song is "She Used To Be Mine" from Waitress and "If You Love Someone" by The Veronicas. The fandom: BNHA. I hope you enjoy!

"You've changed so much from when I met you. Maybe too much. You're not the girl I once loved. I can't do this anymore." OJ's body fell to the ground. She had changed a lot since she met all of her friends. (This is true for me irl too!) They had pretended not to notice but she knew they saw. And now her girlfriend was breaking up with her for it.

Once her now ex left she started crying. "Dammit..." OJ choked out. She started listening to music because that calms her down normally, but not today. The song that played was "She Used To Be Mine" from Waitress. She started singing.

It's not simple to say.... Most days I don't recognize me. These shoes and this apron, this place and it's patrons have taken more than I gave them.

It's not easy to know... I'm not anything like I used to be although it's true I was never attention's sweet center. I still remember that girl.

She's imperfect but she tries. She is good but she lies. She is hard on herself. She is broken and won't ask for help. She is messy but she's kind. She is lonely most of the time. She is all of this mixed up and baked into a beautiful pie. She is gone but she used to be mine.

OJ was about to sing the next verse when her neighbor, and best friend, Katsuki Bakugou came in. "Deku you ok?" He had a jar of ice cream and a spoon at the ready.

"She broke up with me... Said I had changed too much from the girl she loved anymore... I think she's--" Bakugou cut her off.

"She's right! You have changed! You changed for the better! You are stronger than you were before! If she doesn't love you for that.... I will!" Bakugo was blushing while saying that. He had finnaly told her. Now all he needs is the reaction. Judging from the tears in her eyes, he thought it was a bad one. He thought wrong.

"Oh Kacchan!" She hugged him smiling and crying. "Of course you will! You'll protect me from anyone who tries to break my heart again too!"

They sat there for the next few hours just sitting there and hugging. OJ was crying still.

"We should probably eat that ice cream shouldn't we Kacchan...?" OJ said noticing it.

"You can have it." Bakugou said calmly. "I brought it for you anyways." They sat there eating ice cream hugging and eventually fell asleep.

~The Next Day~

OJ's friend Fries busts in the door closely followed by Clover and Kiwi. "STAY AWAY FROM MY BEST FRIEND!!! Oh. It's just Bakugou. Never mind." Fries yells. This woke up Katsuki and OJ.

"GUYS WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" OJ yelled.

"Protecting you!" Clover said cheerfully. "But I guess you have all the protection you need right there!~"

"Ha! Yeah she does!~" Kiwi joined in, noticing the teasing.

"Guys! He's just my friend!!" OJ yelled at them.

"Sure~ Hear that Kacchan?~ You were just friendzoned!~" Fries joined in on the fun. She then put the song "If You Love Someone" by The Veronicas on.

"OJ I need to tell you something!" Kacchan said. "I... I love you October Jay! I have for a while! Will you be my girlfriend?" OJ recognized those hopeful eyes. She had them when she had asked her ex to date her.

"I... I... I love you too Kacchan. Of course I will!" OJ started crying.

If you love someone then tell them right now! Cause your heart won't rest till you let it out! If you love someone, you gotta make a sound!
