Welcome to the news broadcast with August Jay!

The world these days sucks. With the COVID-19, the riots going on, etc.

We'll start with the good news! That's always a good way to start!

First of all, Corona Virus numbers. In the United States, 752,925 people have recovered from the virus. Out of the entire world, 3,442,675 people have recovered.

As for things opening, in the US, they are starting to open face to face places such as restaurants, schools, etc. The schools isn't very helpful for some schools that have already ended classes.

On that note, CONGRATS TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE OFFICIALLY FINISHED A GRADE!
My demographics for this book are broken I'm assuming because I know more than one person reads my book. But still, congrats, Especially to those of you who are moving on to middle school, to high school, or even from high school!

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!
With the pandemic, we don't have any in person Pride Parades, but Wattpad is throwing a Virtual Pride Parade! It'll be colorful and fun! I know I'm excited! I hope to see you all there!

Now, on a more serious note, the bad news.

COVID-19 is still on the rise.  When everything opens, please don't go out on a spree. I know it's tempting, but we can't do it or else there will be an even worse impact. Based on evidence from previous pandemics, we shouldn't freak out when everything opens. There will probably be a second wave anyways, so be cautious. I did a lot of research for school comparing COVID to previous outbreaks, and the second wave was the worst a lot of the time. Let's try to stay safe everyone.

I'm sure most of us in the US have heard about the riots going on across the country. I've not heard much, but from what I know, they are for this "Black Lives Matter" stuff and the things going on with the police. 

This is where it might get offensive.
I'm not saying that this "Black Lives Matter" stuff is wrong. It's for a just cause, but the way people are going about it is wrong. Around 15% of cops are bad. I'm not disagreeing that that exists. But  the 85% of good cops are being affected by this too. But the news these days highlights that 15%. There's not much we can do about it besides knowing that it is a highlight of the bad stuff and there is still good in the world!

I think that "Black Lives Matter" isn't what we should be saying. I think it should be "All  Lives Matter" because everyone matters! No matter who you are! If you hurt someone because their skin is a different color than yours, what does that say about the people of your color of skin? We all should just be kind! There is no need to be mean to others.

"Treat others the way you want to be treated" doesn't mean "Treat others in a mean way if they are mean to you." It means "Treat others with kindness, as you would want them to treat you." The world needs to be filled with kindness.

Someone who I looked up to as a kid and I still look up to is Kid President. He pressed into the idea that you should be kind. Here are a few of my favorite quotes from him. Interpret them how you will. You could even comment what you think they mean!
