They Wanted Me

Chapter:1

I watched from under a tree as my mate, the one who was supposed to love me for my entire life, sparred with a girl that he claimed as his mate. He marked and mated with her right after he rejected me. It hurt so bad. It still hurts. I can't do anything. I placed my head on my paws deciding to look around in the process.

A black Escalade pulled up in front of the house. My ex mate didn't stop. He's the beta and the beta is supposed to welcome any guests. His mate though turned her head towards the car. He was getting upset. I lifted my head as the car doors opened. One of the males that was in the back seat looked towards my ex mate and his chosen.

I could feel the power radiating off him. A second one got out of the back seat looking that directly too. The alpha came out to greet the group. "Welcome to my pack." He said. The two from the back seat looked similar nearly the same. I was thinking brothers. "Nice to be here. I see your beta refused his duties." One said.

"Don't mind him. He's caused enough trouble as is at the moment. I will deal with it later." The alpha said. 'Go inside please and bring lunch to my office.' The alpha linked me. I got up from my position and went towards the side of the house. Once around back, I shifted and dressed before going to grab enough lunch for the alpha and his guests.

He knew I was his beta's destined mate. He believes a strong woman is worth the position she was given. I can fight if I have to. I know how to strategize. As I carried the tray to his office my ex mate and his chosen were about to run into me. Two warriors grabbed them both before I could spill anything. Two matching growls came from behind me.

One warrior on guard opened the office door for me. I took the food and set it down on the table in the office. The alpha said something to his guards outside the door and dismissed me. I caught what one of the males said. "Shy little thing isn't she?" The doors were closed behind me.

I went back outside and went for a walk. They won't remember me. No one usually does. I would though love to see my ex mate wither in pain. Around one, I went to my job. As soon as I got there, I changed into scrubs and clocked in. I got the report from the nurse before me before starting my rounds.

They put me on pediatrics since I'm the sweetest in the pack. Most of the pack members have been mean and talking down on me since I could remember. I usually try to stay out of anyone's way to try and avoid conflict. Most of the time it works. Other times. Not as lucky.

I laid low my entire shift taking care of the kids in recovery. I played a game or two with each as I checked them over. At the end of my shift though, my feet were killing me. As I changed into my day clothes I couldn't help but think about the brothers. I left the facility heading to where I usually slept.

I opened the door and went inside below the packhouse. I didn't mind sharing the space with a few omegas. My ex mate put me lower than them. He wants everyone to see me as dirt. The alpha though sees me as a beta female. He gave me the title without my ex mate knowing and let's me perform beta female tasks.

I could have gone up to the two today to greet them since it's in my title. I decided to let my ex mate take the heat since he's the 'official' beta. I got a cold shower since the omegas don't have access to hot water. I didn't mind. 'I need you to assist me tomorrow. I already talked to your employer. You are being paid all day.' The alpha linked me.

I went to bed thinking of what tomorrow will bring.
