Once we arrived at Marquis Richardson's home we were greeted by Vincent. "Lady Zera, my master is awaiting you in the drawing room." He bowed, and looked at Elijah.
"As a servant, I will help with preparations." Elijah offered and I was escorted to the drawing room, Marquis Richardson sat at a chair on one side of the table.
"So you made a contract as well?" He looked at me, displeased? Why would he be?
"What are you talking about?" I looked at him, was it glowing? I thought Elijah hid it.
"Not polite to lie to your fiancé Lady Zera." Vincent whispered holding the choker in front of me, I tried to cover the symbol but grabbed my hand.
"Vincent-"
"Elijah!" I called out and in a blink he grabbed Vincent and threw him against the wall, keeping me from hitting the wall with Vincent.
"I would appreciate it if you wouldn't touch my mistress." Elijah said, glaring straight at him, "I don't want your filth to taint her."
"Zera, why?" Hunter looked at me...was he actually upset about the contract?
"My father, he drove me to it. I'm tired of him, I am no longer letting him beat and torture me! Because of him, I'm no longer pure..." I glared at him and his eyes widened, he opened his mouth, but I spoke first. "Yes, my father violated me, beat me, and insulted me endlessly." He looked down, was it in horror?
Vincent stood by his side, "My what a catch you have Elijah." Vincent said keeping his eyes on me.
"Vincent, shut up." Hunter said, not looking up, Vincent stared at his master. "Zera, we could have told the authorities, or someone, why make a contract with the demon?" He began to raise his voice, I rolled my eyes.
"I would have never been free! Don't you get it? He would have found out before anything was done and he would have done his worst! Elijah was my only ticket." I was getting tired.
~♥~
"Now....we are both destined to die..." He whispered.
"No, we are all destined to die at some point, whether we make a contract or not, it doesn't matter the way as long as it happens." I corrected.
He glared, "Vincent, leave."
I smirked, "Elijah, why don't you go watch my father?"
Elijah and Vincent bowed and left, leaving me to Marquis Richardson, "Zera..."
I tilted my head, the smirk still on my face, "First names now Marquis-" He kissed me and my eyes widened, I froze. What was I suppose to do? What was happening? Is this really happening?
He backed away, I was in shock, "You are my fiancée, you will never leave my side Zera Blackwell. I will never let you go, until the day Vincent takes my soul, I will never leave you."
I blinked several times, "Wh-when? When did you-"
"The minute I saw you, I thought you were wonderful, the minute I saw you I wanted to know you, the minute I got to know you, I knew I would never release you." He held my hand, I felt my face go hot. "Do you feel the same way?"
"I...I heard of you...I liked what I heard...I felt sorry for you...when I saw you...you truly were as wonderful as they said." I said and he embraced me.
"We truly are the perfect couple, for we both are destined to die at the hand of a demon. Our souls are owned and in turn, we are served until our goals are achieved, Zera Blackwell, I won't let you go until the day my soul is ripped from me." Marquis Richardson whispered in my ear, I was frozen to the spot, did he really care? Or was he trying to get me to back out of the contract? Either way, it was too late.
"What are you trying to do?" For once, I had no clue what I was supposed to do, I couldn't read what he wanted like I could with others.
"Nothing." He said holding me tighter, I heard footsteps. "Zera."
"Yes?" I said, staring at the wall.
"Can you stay here for the day?" He said backing up, his normal tone was present and I nodded. "Good, shall I alert your father?"
"About that..." I looked at him, my mind was still racing with thoughts.
"What did you do, no, what did Elijah do?" He stared at me intently.
"He sent a message to the Queen for me, my father planned to go against the Queen, I sent Elijah to alert Her Majesty." I couldn't manage a smile, I didn't speak with sadness either.
"I see." The door opened to a few servants, "What is it?"
"V-Vincent left the manor with some man, did you send him on an errand?" A man who I suppose was another butler spoke up.
"Yes, he left with Lady Zera's butler to pick up some items, did you need him?" Marquis Richardson informed.
"Oh, well yes, but seeing as he was authorized to leave, it doesn't matter, it's fine." The butler said and bowed with the other servants.
"You may leave." He said and they closed the door, "Take a seat Zera." I sat down and he did also, "Zera, once your father is arrested, do you plan on staying at the manor by yourself, or going to your townhouse?"
"Not sure, but either way it won't matter, now will it Marquis Rich-"
"Please just Hunter." He smiled lightly.
I smirked, "Yes, Hunter." I laughed, "But still I'm not sure where I am going, possibly staying at the manor, no matter where I go there will always be reminded of him." I said and he sighed.
"No need to fear him anymore, I will never let you go." Hunter said and I didn't know what to say. The doors slammed open, it was Elijah and Vincent, "What the bloody hell are you two doing?"
"No need to slam the bloody doors Elijah!" I scolded him.
"Forgive us, but your father is arrested, the carriage was then attacked, your father is in the hospital now along with the other passengers." Elijah said, rather quickly.
"Good, serves the bastard right, I'm not visiting him, Elijah, go make him think he's insane. Come back in time for tea, I'll be staying here today alright?" I looked at him, he smirked and bowed.
"Yes, my lady." He left.
"Vincent I want Ceylon tea." Hunter said sitting patiently, clearly agitated of what the demons had done to the door. "Then make sure there was no damage done to the door, you two need to be more cautious." He grumbled.
"Yes, my lord, Lady Zera would you like tea as well?" Vincent asked me, I faced him.
"If it is no trouble." I answered as politely as I could manage.
"Of course not, you are the fiancée of my lord, I shall be back momentarily." Vincent said, and left.
