it was the morning after new year's eve,
day after our party which i left too soon with droopy eyes and tired state.
asked you to stay till late; celebrate with your mates.
it was the morning when you walked into our home abode ,
with disheveled hair and love bites scattered all across your neck.
my eyes searched all across your face for regret,
as the lipstick stains on your white shirt betrayed every speck of love i had every felt.
but something wasn't right.
the marks and bruises on your wrist were screaming for help.
the torn off shirt showed scratches which bled for repair.
your body of a garden was now scenting of a cemetery filled with dead.
something just didn't feel right.
your mouth opened a bit with the words tumbling out of it,
"i cheated on you."
was all that you said as our eyes met for the first time since you came.
god, how they were unfaithful to the words you spoke!
your brown eyes didn't show any remorse but just fear and pain swimming in your soul;
it started to make sense as i tumbled towards you with disbelief painted on my face,
i caressed you cheeks and spoke softly,
"did you give consent?"
your eyes widened. your tan face became white as sheets in our bedroom where love bloomed.
your hands started shaking. your knees became weak. your mind started to cloud with memories.
"boys can't be raped."
you screamed.
the only words that left your destructed garden as you fell to the floor and wept about everything that had happened.
