Andrew sat at the designated reserved table for the evening, patiently awaiting his date who he had been trying to get himself a chance with for a few years now. He was more than shocked to finally hear a 'yes' come out of her mouth.
There was no doubt that he looked handsome that evening. His dreads were braided back into a neat low ponytail and he was clad in a beige suit, complimented by a navy blue tie and white buttoned down shirt. Navy blue Gucci dress shoes also dressed his feet, completing the entire outfit nicely. He wasn't big on jewelry so he only wore a gold watch on his wrist and a diamond earring in one of his ears, making his light brown eyes pop that much more.
He sat with a glass of water in front of him as he awaited Sage's arrival, casually glancing over the menu so it wouldn't take too long for him to order. He knew that this was an upscale restaurant that anyone with deep pockets frequented their time in, so they moved pretty quickly to appease their clientele but it was still a restaurant and they still had other customers to attend to. The waiter that had previously sat his water in front of him also came back around to place a basket of soft buttered rolls on the table, fresh steam coming off of them as the heavenly smell immediately wafted through Andrew's nose. He was hungry, but wouldn't touch the food until Sage arrived.
As if on cue, Sage stepped into the dimly lit restaurant and looked around in awe. The place looked as if it were a ballroom that the owners just sat tables inside of and called a restaurant. There was a giant clear-crystal chandelier that hung beautifully in the middle of the room, the light reflecting off of it and accentuating the golden gleams on the business's interior. The floor was carpeted in a deep maroon color and people in thousand dollar suits and dresses conversed all around her.
This was the first time Sage had been anywhere fancier than Benihana, one of her favorite hibachi grills that she didn't get to go to often since the plates were nearly twenty dollars each. While she did work full time, she also helped her parents around the house with things like the utility bills and groceries while also paying her car note and insurance, so she couldn't just spend her money all willy-nilly whenever she wanted to. She knew having her priorities straight was much more important than indulging herself.
Once she was safely inside, De'Angelo pulled off from the front of the establishment. She allowed him to drive her there since he was already heading out and she wasn't expecting to be going anywhere in her own car tonight. It didn't matter if she was heading to his place or hers.
After telling the hostess of her party, the nicely dressed woman soon led Sage to the table Andrew was sitting at. His eyes immediately caught hers as she neared him, his legs lifting him to his feet as he stood up to greet her. Sage placed a light peck on his cheek as they embraced one another and Andrew pulled out her chair for her once they pulled away.
His multi-colored orbs couldn't help but to roam her appearance, taking in how beautiful she really was. He had only seen her dress up once and that was for their high school graduation, so he appreciated her taking her time out to look good for their first date. "You look beautiful." He complimented as he took his seat in front of her.
