Chapter 2

 

High school: where it all starts

A month and two weeks had gone since the death of Emily and the wound that her death left on him was very fresh and still as painful as it was the very day she died. The foster house changed from being a home to being just a house everyone wasn't as close to each other as they used to be when Emily was still alive.

Noah was rarely at home, work had taken most of his time because he was just promoted to being the manger of the Preston empire, a well-known shipping company owned by Robert Preston and so this took away almost all his time. Emma whose career had just started growing as a lawyer was also bombarded with work, unfortunately leaving Lucas in a world of his own. The very day Emily died Lucas stop believing in God, he thought God didn't love him and that was why he took everyone away from him except for is best friend Megan Christian.

Megan a next-door neighbour to the fosters, these two weren't the best of friends when they saw each other. actually, the opposite of what you think happened they started plotting against each other the next minute they saw each other and after a number of plotting against each other they came to an agreement and that was the start for a beautiful and wonderful friendship.

The days were going by and Lucas couldn't let go of the fact that Emily was gone for good and to make matters worse his parents weren't around for him and this style of living continued for years to come.

TWO YEARS LATER

Two years had gone by since the growing of Noah and Emma's career, they had grown bigger and richer because they were earning more than enough. The fosters had moved from a duplex to a mansion. Noah had been promoted to the Co-CEO of the Preston empire and as for Emma she is known as the best lawyer in the city, she won every single case she took up. Well, as for Lucas he never saw his parents, the maids and other staffs had become his company instead of his family and lets not forget about Megan, she was still close to Lucas even though they are no longer neighbours.

Lucas saw his parents as being heartless and cruel but he didn't understand that his parents had to move on in other to keep the house running and had to stop talking about Emily in other to help him but this didn't mean that they forgot about Emily.

Sophomore year had just started for Lucas, he woke up, got into the bathroom and got ready for the first day of the worst place in the world "school", for some people they would be happy to go back to school to see their friends but Lucas didn't like school because he was surrounded by people who wanted to become his friends because of how rich his parents were and he didn't want to have any other friend aside for Megan because he believed the more people you let in your life, the easier they can just leave.

He makes his way downstairs after getting dressed in a black sweat shirt, jeans and his heritage edition air speeds. He got to the kitchen, greeted jane as she was making pancakes, got a plate of pancakes that were ready and went to the dinning to have breakfast.

After breakfast he slanged the bag on his bag and made his way outside to meet the butler waiting for him in front of the wheels, he got in passengers seat and off they were to school.

The school building was stand in front of him, Ocean Ville high with the banner in front of the building saying "welcome back to school". Lucas made his way inside running his hands through his blond hair and walking in the hallway, girls were trying to get his attention but as usual he ignored them and went to look for Megan and soon enough, he found her standing by the locker arranging hers. He taps her shoulder in order to get her attention, she turns around and a girl with brown hair and light brown eyes and smiles.

Lucas POV

I walk into the school hallway running my hand through my hair and avoiding attention but as usual I hear a girl calling me, Jamila Tayler. The twin sister of James Tayler, the captain of the football team and the so-called Mr popular guy in the set but as you know I don't care about this.

Pretending like I didn't hear her and walk away down the hallway looking for Megan and soon enough I find her by her locker. I tap her shoulder in order to get her attention.

She turns around flashing me with a smile, "hey" I tell her while smiling " what's up Lukie" she says with the stupid nickname she gave me when we were little. "well, lets start by saying Jamila is on my neck" I say while rubbing the back of my head "and.... here she comes so Im off to class so... bye" Megan walks as Jamila comes "hi Lucas " Jamila says "hey" I say smiling at her as she blushes by the way I always knew she liked me it was so obvious but Im not interested.

"so what's up" I say tying to make this short "well I came to tell you that I like you. r shoes Thanks are we done I say as I was about to walk away Well I was wondering if you would like to go some where after school" She asked while batting her eyes like a doll "so what's your answer" she says smiling at me "i'm sorry Jamila I already have plans maybe some other time " i say ok see you later she says and walks away.

I go to my locker to get my materials, the bell rings which indicates it's time for first period, "biology". I get to class and see that Megan had saved a seat for me next to her in the back row because we are not the kind of people the seat in front. Class starts and as usual we are given a project to work on, during the first day of school, students in every class are given a project to work on in biology.

Everyone gets a partner but I don't get one because everyone has already been paired and I am the last one but I am happy that I don't get anyone to work with until a girl with red hair cuts into my thoughts.

    This is capter 2, i know this might not be good enough like i said earlier i am new to writing and so you guys are free to point out any errors and all.

  I know it is weird that Jamila was the one that asked Lucas out but there is no rule that say a girl can't ask a guy out it's only our mindset and so i don't want you guys to think that this is wrongs.
