Chapter 3

New Girl.

Lucas POV

"Good day students" principle Laxford says as he walks in with the red hair "Good principle Laxford" we all reply together "well students, this is Melina Bell she's going to be your new class mate" principle Laxford says "oh good how lovely, Good day Melina Im Mrs Clarkson your biology teacher" Mrs Clarkson greets her "Good day Mrs Clarkson" she replies her "so Melina we are going to start work immediately" Mrs Clarkson turns to me "Lucas, Melina would be your partner for the project" the bell rings which shows class is over "students the project details would be sent to the platform and the due date would be Monday which is when all the presentations would take place, class is dismissed" Mrs Clarkson says as she dismisses the class.

"Hi Im Melina Bell" Melina greets "I know I replied "so, when should we get started with the project she asked "whenever you feel comfortable" I replied her "How about I come to your place? " she asked "sure, I would give you my number now, I would send you address and you can tell me when you want to start the project" I give her my number and immediately pack my things and walk away from her.

Melina POV

I get out of the car after my mother had given me a long speech about how I should be careful about boys and the kind of friends I make and in front of me was Ocean Ville high.

I walk into the school hallway; I look around as I was trying to study the new environment while walking down the empty hallway. I continue looking round the hallway studying the lockers that are painted blue and to my left side I see the map of the school building.

I know it sounds wired because you don't see this in every school but it's actually smart. I look closely at the map and immediately I locate where my destination is.

Finally, I'm in front of the principals office after taking a lot of wrong turns, I walk in and see a lady wearing a deep blue suit, her hair was down and she had a big set of glasses on.

"Good morning I'm Melina Bell" I said as I introduced myself. Actually, Bell isn't my dad's surname it's my mom's maiden name after my mom got pregnant, she figured out my dad was married and had a family of his own in Chicago. so apparently my dad doesn't know I exist that's why my mom doesn't want me to associate with boys.

"Good morning dear, how may I help you" the lady replied who I suppose she is the principals sectary, I look down at the table in front of me and see her name "Miss Davenport I am a new student and I was asked to come here when the school year starts" I answered her and immediately she made a phone call to the principal "You may go in" she motioned me the direction of the principals office "thank you" I say as I walked toward the door.

I mentally give myself a quick recap of how I would present myself, slowly I knock on the door and I heard a faint reply from inside the office.

"Good day sir" I greet the middle-aged man in front of me "ah! Miss Bell take a sit why embarrass me by standing" I take my seat "how are you" Mr Laxford asked "fine, Thank you sir" I replied "Miss Bell, I heard you where the top student of your class in our previous school" the principal asked " yes sir" I replied " well what is the reason you strive for success" Mr Laxford asked "well, my mom is the only providing for the both of us and I want to take off some the responsibility from her shoulder by being the top student and getting a scholarship into Harvard" I replied.

"Wow! You were able to pass the scholarship exams into this school, you are wise beyond your age" Mr Laxford commented Wow! you are so matured at a very young aged, a lot of children your age care about getting their demand fulfilled but you are incredible "thank you sir I replied

After the brief meeting between the principal and myself, he took me to my class where they were having biology and that was where I met the boy with a lovely set green eyes and blonde hair "Lucas".

I introduce myself to Lucas but he keeps the discussion short and walked out on me like I irritated him.

After my so-called conversation with Lucas, I go to my locker in order to grab my textbook for my next class and I see a girl getting her textbook, she is blonde and has a lovely set of blue eyes.

I turn towards her in order to make friends with her "Hi, Im Melina" I introduced myself "Hi Melina Im Clarissa" she replied "you are new here right" she asked "yes" I replied

"So what do you have next maybe i can help you to your next class and later on I can give you a tour round the school" Clarissa suggested.

I looked at my timetable and turned towards her "well it looks like I have English" I smiled at her "OMG! I also have English" she said as her voice went up with joy and my smile grew wider.

The bell rings and Clarissa turn towards me after getting her textbook and shuts her locker and I do the same "well it's time for class, lets get going before the principal comes out of his office" Classica says as we start running to our next class.

We finally make to our class, I look around and see the front row seats are free "hey Classica how about we seat in front" I asked her to sit in front with me because I feel it's better since we can hear whatever the teacher says easily "Yeah, we can seat in front today but next time we would sit where I want us to sit" Classica said "ok, as you wish" I said as I playfully replied.

We take our seat as I told her the reason, I left my previous school as I was talking to her the teacher walks in and she starts the lesson. I bring out my jotter and start taking notes until I hear laughter coming from outside the and see a familiar face laughing with another girl and my mind drifts back to why he kept the conversation short, he has a girl friend and he doesn't want sparks to fly or maybe he doesn't want me to think he is single. Wait what am I thinking about I just met him and I am think about him having a girlfriend come on Melina what are you thinking about I mentally scold myself.
