First Date

• James Potter

When you agreed to help James, you had no idea what to expect. Would it be a tutor situation? Or a casual friendship? Your first "meeting" was in the common room, where you sat down and began to question James about his feelings for Lily. The following sessions were all similar, and for a few months that was most of your interaction with James Potter. But gradually the topics changed, and instead of discussing James' undying love for your best friend, you found yourself opening up to him and talking about your home life. These "tutoring sessions" soon turned into actual conversations filled with curiosity and laughter. Eventually you guys talked outside of the common room as well, and could often be seen chatting during meals and classes. After a while Lily hardly came up your conversations, and James spent more time thinking about you then about his former love.

About two months before the end of year, you suddenly realized your feelings for James. Every time he made a stupid joke you'd find it hilarious, and the little compliments he gave you were cherished in your heart. Of course, once you discovered this you distanced yourself from him. No way were you going to get your heart broken by some boy who was in love with your best friend. How cliche was that? But you couldn't hide from James for too long, when he wanted to find something he damn well found it. So after practice one day before you could hide out in the locker room, James blocked your path. He demanded to know why you were avoiding him, and somehow accidentally let it slip that he couldn't stop thinking about you. He said you were always on his mind, and he never felt this way about someone, not even Lily. He ended his rant with a simple, yet sweet, date proposal. " So (y/n), will you please do me the honor and go to hogsmeade with me?"

After a moment of consideration, you accepted with a big smile on your face. Both of you just stood there in happiness for a few seconds, giddy with excitement. But sadly the moment was broken when a teammate yelled for you two to snap out of it and get changed before dinner. The rest of the week both dragged on and went by so fast. You were so excited for your date, but your nerves were already overwhelming. Luckily by the time it rolled around you had a cute outfit picked out, your hair was nice, and you were feeling good. You met James in the common room, and from there you walked together down to Hogsmeade. You had a really fun day, got some good food and James even bought you a few prank materials from Zonko's. All in all it was a fantastic date, and it ended with a walk through the courtyard just laughing and holding hands.

• Sirius Black

Ever since he saved you, Sirius made a pact with himself to "keep you safe." Apparently this meant to follow you around and bother you nonstop. Overtime his behavior grew on you, and you found yourself becoming accommodated to the craziness that is Sirius Black. You began to mix with his group of friends, otherwise known around school as the infamous Marauders, and he socialized with yours. Of course not everybody got along, Lily still would rather kiss a gorilla's backside before talking to James, and Peter sorta creeped out a few of your dorm mates. But you and Sirius never seemed to have any problems except bicker occasionally. You two were as close as close can be, maybe even more so than he and James. There was always this affectionate and loving atmosphere when you and Sirius were together, and basically everyone could tell there were feelings involved.

To your friends it was almost painfully obvious you had it bad for Sirius, and vice versa. Your deep rooted care for him and your interactions left little to the imagination. The few times they brought it up you'd always feign confusion, and with a slight blush deny the accusations and swiftly change the topic. Once you overheard the Marauders, or just "the boys" to you, quietly talk about Sirius' feelings for you. You heard snippets of giggles and teasing, and you even thought you saw Sirius blush just a tiny bit. What you saw made your heart beat as fast as a racehorse and made your lips stretch into a wide smile. But you would never tell somebody how you felt. Rather than risk your friendship with one of the best people in your life, you kept your feelings to yourself, even though you knew Sirius felt the same. It was just easier in your mind to ignore your beating heart and wide smiles and focus on your amazing friendship, even though it pained you to do so.
