Serenity was considered a outcast. Both of her parents were killed just after she had learned to fly. The attackers came just as dawn was breaking. They were Great Grays, their mission to murder who they thought were spies from the neighboring forest. Serenity was in a neighboring tree, resting from the task of hunting, when she saw the two owls fly into the family hollow. Within moments there was a high pitched screeching, than, silence. One of the attackers poked his head out, turned around, and said something to the other. Serenity immediately took off, and started flying to the south eastern part of the silver forest. She had only needed to see the look in the Great Grays eyes to figure out that she was a target as-well. She flew for hours, exhausting herself, until she was forced to land or fall out of the sky. Her lesson about the layout of the forest came back to her now. She was in the forbidden area of the forest, all the story's of this area warned that any who came here, would never be seen again. It was just all rumors of course, and she never believed in any of it. Serenity landed on the ground, and, practically started chuckling as if she would have never touched the ground again. When she finally looked up, her eyes widened at what was in front of her. A stone structure crumbling from age, hidden well from view because of vines and moss. A large opening at the front appeared to be the entrance. She picked herself up, and walked to the entrance mystified. There was not a lot of light inside, but that was no issue for her, being a owl, she adjusted er pupils so she could see. What she saw surprised her. On the floor lay dozens of scrolls, and on the walls were hundreds, maybe even thousands of symbols. She picked up one of the scrolls, and to her surprise, on it was the language of the lost. Her brain made the connection of what little she and almost everyone else knew of the language, and picked out symbols she knew. TRA—LAT---. Oh, perhaps it may be a translation page, she thought excitedly! Perhaps this has something to do with those symbols on the wall? To her surprise, when she held up the scroll to the wall, a symbol was present on the page that was from the wall. Underneath the symbol, was a symbol from the lost. It looked like a triangle with the base of it pushed halfway up, and A! She was astounded, and in that moment she made a choice, to call this place her new home. Over the next six Months, she rarely ever saw another owl, she hunted, slept, and studied what she thought was a new language. One day she found a parchment with a drawing of her, underneath it labeled her an outcast, and to kill on site. They would not have let her come bat at all. She knew as much, going back home would most likely be death, so she continued her normal schedule. Until one day, when there was a extremely loud roar, the sound of trees cracking, and a impact into the ground outside..........
