I was so ready for "For Sure." When the track list was released alongside her pre-order purchase for the album, and I saw the title to this song I was interested in the concept, almost instantly. Since I am a writer, my eyes tend to go straight to the stylistic way that artists put their songs, whether that Be with the formatting or how they word things, because words are so powerful and they are economical with our feelings and emotions more than we give them credit for. Now, it's still early, and I hope that this one grows on me, but I have to be honest here. The song is too repetitive, and there's no build up. Again, I freaking love Carly Rae Jepsen and as far as the lyrical substance goes, it's not her best offer off the album, but the instrumental and "da da da da" part is satisfying to the ears. Thank you Ms. Jepsen.
