I typically love songs that are very face paced and keep me invested(obviously, right?) But when it comes to "I'll Be Your Girl," which is showcased to us immediately after the techno and guitar driven track "Happy Not Knowing," I actually had to skip the song initially, and then I came back to it after listening to the cohesiveness that is the rest of the album. This song just seems out of place, the writing is my least favorite, but with Carly (who I think is probably one of the strongest songwriters working today) I just couldn't get into what this one was bringing. It just seems generic for this era and I would call it filler material. Now, I love Carly Rae Jepsen, and I will definitely be reiterating this throughout my track by track breakdown, but this one was just a missed opportunity in my opinion. My favorite lyrics have probably got to be, however,"Find me in your heart, find me here again
I got nothing left, make a little protest"3/10
