~~~~~~~~~~~~THALIA POV
Archery went good. No, who am I kidding? It didn't go. We started to practice and went well for about three minutes before disaster struck.
A conch horn rang through the air and Annabeth froze. "That's the emergency bell!"
She took off towards the Big House. I locked eyes with Nico and we ran after her.
When my pine tree came into veiw, I saw what was wrong. The Nemean Lion was growling at the border with a couple hellhounds behind it. I growled. The last time I had seen that stupid lion it knocked me out.
I felt my clothes shift again and I glanced down. I was actually satisfied. Sort of. I had on tight black pants and a black shirt that looked like it was spandex, but way more comfortable. My hair was still longer than it should have been, but up in a high ponytail. Regular, black studded combat boots and a silver belt. The only accessories were a locker and a couple of silver and black bangles.
"Thank you," I muttered before running up the hill. Half of the campers were already up there battling the creatures.
I charged into battle immediately heading towards that damned lion. Or should I say dam lion. Okay, you're right. Bad time for a joke.
I fought for a good ten minutes, trying to get it to open its mouth wide enough. And then it swatted at Lola, one of the younger Hermes girls, and she fell over. I sighed and ran towards her as the lion did as well. I reached her and picked her up, looking around.
"Jason!" I screamed when I saw him. He frantically turned and looked at me. "Catch!" I yelled tossing the six year old towards him, trusting him to cushion her fall since he was better with the winds.
I turned back around just as the stupid lion decided I looked like a good target.
It hit at me just like it did all those years ago and I want flying back, this time into my tree instead of a rocket.
I felt my body slump forward and black lines danced across my vision.
"Thalia!"
I could tell who it was. Everything sounded like it was a mile away. But just before I blacked out completely, I saw a pair of burning obsidian eyes.
NICO POV
I saw her fly back in slow motion. Her head hit the tree trunk and I could almost here the crack.
"Thalia!" I yelled as I ran towards her.
Her body slumped forward and she blinked sleepily. Her head feel to one side and her eyes blinked shut just as I reached her.
**TIME SKIP**
She looked so pale. Even more than she normal did. Kayla had treated her immediately, assuring everyone that she would be fine. Annabeth had freaked out when she saw how much blood Thalia had lost and Jason had just walked out of the room.
Me? I was still kinda shaky. I had felt her spirit start slipping and still had some off her blood on my clothes from carrying her to the infirmary.
I was sitting next to her, slowly tracing circles on her knuckles. I probably shouldn't have because of the whole Hunter thing, but I couldn't help it. Her breaths were steady and maybe that should have comforted me, but I really just wanted her awake.
I kind of spaced out, just rubbing her hand, when her shifting snapped me back to attention.
Her eyes slowly blinked open add when they connected with mine I smiled. "Hey, Sleeping Beauty."
