Mishti braced herself for the impending doom. How long could she hide here? It had been three days since she hadn't gone to office. She has to face him sometime, damn it! There was no running from him. There was no running from herself either, she couldn't lie anymore, not to herself. She loved him! Yes, she was in love with him, despite his arrogance, his cruelty she'd fallen for him. Despite everything she fell for him irrevocably. But he wasn't the man for her, of that she was sure. He'd hurt her at every single chance he got and he'll keep doing that if she allowed it. Hence she has to leave him for good. Yes, she'll resign and go to Vedika masi and when she was better she'll come back and look for another job. She took the resignation letter and readied herself for his ire, that was sure to come.

She directly aimed for his cabin as soon as she reached the office. She knocked twice before entering....
"Mishti..." He stood from his chair and started coming towards her but she held her hand out to stop him and he halted reluctantly
"Mr Rajvanshi, I want to re..." But he didn't let her finish and said instead
"Look Mishti I know that you're mad at me, and rightly so....the way I handled things was...ahm...cowardly. But you can't deny that what happened between us wasn't a teenage hormonal thing. I....I want you, and I know that you do too. I'm willing to rectify the situation and I have something that'll make you very happy" he smirked and went to his desk to retrieve some papers. He gave them to her with a satisfied grin. She was so confused by his behavior to say the least, she took the papers and started reading.
She felt the blood drain from her face as she read that. How could he? For a minute she couldn't believe her eyes but as her mind started processing she knew it was real. As real as it could be...
SMACK!! she slapped him hard across the face, so hard that he got pushed back a step or two as he wasn't expecting the blow and his lower lip split. He looked at her with shock and anger but she didn't care
"How dare you!! You were trying to buy me!! What do you think I am?? Let me tell you one thing Mr Rajvanshi, I might be poor but I don't sell myself for the luxuries, for I don't need them. I'm happy being the way I am. I don't need big flats and expensive cars and fancy dresses. Because there is something which is more important for me than those things and that is my self respect! You fixed a price for me, did you? Well, my character is way above reach than your rich filthy hands! You can bet all your money but you can't touch it let alone buy it!!" She tore the papers into pieces and threw them at his face
"I always knew you're not a good man, but I never thought that you'll go to this extent to humiliate me! To degrade me! Despite all the insults you threw at me, all the cruelty I endured from you, I loved..." She couldn't finish that sentence, if he knew she loved him he'd ridicule her for that too! Not that love remained now, she hated him now, despised him! Tears of humiliation and anger were streaming down her face.
" I never want to see your face again!" And with that she left.

His left cheek was throbbing where she'd hit him, but he didn't care. It was the pain in his heart that was becoming unbearable. Her tear stained face kept coming to him, and it was killing him. What the hell just happened! He slammed his fist on the wall and the blow cracked his knuckles but he didn't pay any attention. Why did he do that? Because you're an asshole! She said despite all his cruelty she loved.....did she mean she loved him? The thought gave him immense pleasure for a minute, but the reality made it's presence known soon. Even if she loved you then, she hates you now! You've made sure of it!
