Basic
Aleya in 2017 → 12 years old which means she is still in primary school
Chapter 9 and 10 is the flashback of her primary school life and how she lost Victoria during her primary school years. When they used to be friends since kindergarten until now. The timeline for chapter 9 and 10 is when Aleya is 12 years old. So on 2019 Aleya is 14.
Ok, so now u have the rough idea about both chapter 9 and 10. We will move on to the details.
Details for chapter 9
1) “flashback in 2017”
Flashback is the introduction to the past that Aleya use to have in primary school.
2017 is when Aleya was 12 and she had to face the time when she lost Victoria. This will also show how long they have not meet.
2) “9 days ago”
This happen in the flashback. Example: 20 May 2017 from there 9 days ago so it is on 11 May 2017. It is trying to show that something have happened 9 days ago in the story. This '9 days ago' is the day where Aleya's art teacher wants her to work on an art project. And the reason that Aleya assume why Victoria left her to be Vernice friend instead which her reason that it is for fame or tittle.
3) Vernice
Vernice is a character in 2017. In which she is the most popular girl in class and have a habit of making Aleya's life miserable or troublesome.
4) “Yesterday”
So this 'yesterday' is the day before '9 days ago '. Example: 20 May 2017 from there 9 days ago so it is on 11 May 2017. Yesterday means it's the day before 11 May 2017 which is 10 May 2017. And that day was the day when Victoria confess to Aleya that she didn't want to be friends with her and choose Vernice instead of her childhood friend, Aleya.

Details for chapter 10
1) chapter 10 is a continuation of chapter 9 in which is the day that Aleya felt after reading Victoria's letter. And this chapter also shows a little of Aleya's family background or we are more focus on Aleya's mother.
2) “back to reality(2017)”
So “back to reality(2017)” means that how is Aleya doing without Victoria and how Nadia and Justin, Aleya's two other best friends, help to comfort her and guide her on starting a new start for Aleya. And all of these is happen in 2017.

Ok so chapter 8 is just a filler chapter. But Aleya's actions are actually trying to avoid Victoria and any conversations with her. Cause first she is already sitting beside Victoria in class and she doesn't enjoy that. And Victoria is getting to know about Aleya's friends by appearing at their table during recess time. That's all I can tell u guys because if not I will ruin the whole story for u guys.
