Fix you

((Castiel's POV))

Castiel had watched Dean waste himself away for months now. He didn't know what to do or how to help him. Whenever he did try Dean usually ignored him or said 'maybe later' or 'not now Cas'. It broke Castiel's heart because he loved the man and Dean had said he'd loved Cas once upon a time. Now Castiel wasn't so sure Dean could love anymore.

'When you try your best but you don't succeed.'

Castiel had been trying his best. God had he been trying. But Dean just wasn't letting him help. Cas lived with Dean and now every night as they laid in bed Castiel wouldn't feel warm he'd feel cold because Dean wasn't really there.

'When you get what you want, but not what you need.'

Dean had been getting what he wanted, alcohol, and a shit ton of it too. But it obviously wasn't what Dean needed. He needed Cas to help. He needed love. And Castiel was trying but he'd have to think about how to try harder. Or maybe Dean just needed time.

'When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep.'

Yes that was Dean alright. He was tired all the time. He seemed to have acquired black rings under his eyes permanently. But every night, Dean would lay awake as Castiel slept. And when Dean did fall asleep, he'd only wake up from vivid nightmares. Cas only knew this because he'd be screaming or breathing heavily. Dean didn't talk to Cas anymore so he wouldn't know otherwise.

'And the tears come streaming down your face, when you lose something you can't replace.'

At first Dean had only cried for a long time. A very long time, but then he stopped talking and then started drinking a lot and wouldn't leave the house. He barely even looked at Cas anymore. Castiel had understood at first. He could handle the crying. Even the drinking, but the rest he could not. Sam died. Dean's little brother that he had raised had died before Dean and he was young. So very young. Only twenty three, so of course Cas had understood, Dean had lost something he could never replace.

'When you love someone but it goes to waste. Could it be worse?'

No it couldn't. Castiel could testify for that. He loved Dean with all his heart, but that love was going to waste as Dean wouldn't accept it of return it. So today Castiel was going to try something different. Maybe it would work and maybe it wouldn't. But he had to try. He had to.

He had already called Bobby and all of his brothers. He even called Dean's best friend, Benny along with a few of his other friends, Garth, Charlie, and Sam's husband Gabe. Then he invited his own friends, Charlie and Kevin. That was everyone they knew and cared about. All of their parents were dead, except Dean's dad who no one knew where he was or if he was even alive.

Castiel pulled his last shoe on and stood up looking at himself in the mirror. He looked nice he supposed. He was wearing a tux with a blue tie and he took a deep breath as he looked down a his engagement ring that was on his finger.

Dean had asked Castiel to marry to him before Sam had died and he became like this..

Cas walke out to where Dean was watching tv with only a few empty bottles on the table beside him. Cas kneeled in front of Dean and took his hands in his. He doubted Dean would notice what he was wearing.

"Dean. I need you do to do something for me. Can you do that?" He asked slowly in a calm voice.

Dean looked down and into Cas' eyes but didn't say anything. Cas bit his lip. This was a last chance, ditch effort. He prayed to god it worked.

"I need you to go in our room and put the clothes on that I left for you on our bed. Then I need you to follow the directions that I left for you in your impala. Can you do that for me?"

Dean didn't respond just stared at Cas. Castiel sighed and squeezed Dean's hands.

"Do you still love me? Because if you do you'll do this for me." Castiel stood up and kissed Dean's forehead before walking out of the house.

Dean didn't move, except for his eyes following Castiel and moving back to the tv as he left.

((Dean's POV))

"Do you still love me?" Castiel's words echoed in Dean's mind over and over again. Dean wa sad. Beyond sad. But he was still with it enough to know that yes he did still love Castiel.

He also was with it enough to know that if he didn't do this, whatever it was, that he would be losing the only person that really cared for him right now. He couldn't lose another person he loved.

So after Cas had left he sat there on the couch blankly for a few more minutes before he huffed, turned the tv off, and stood up walking to their room.

There on the bed was Dean's tux and his bow tie, along with his dress shoes, socks, and a clean pair of boxers. Dean was too sad and a bit under the influence to realize how much Cas loved him just by doing this. He pulled on the clothes and shoes and tied the bow tie, though it was a bit crooked when he had finished. Then he grabbed his car keys and walked to his car where there was a sheet of paper taped to his dashboard with a step by step set of directions.

He started his car and backed it out of the garage. If Dean had been his normal self he would have laughed at step one which read, back car out of driveway.

Step two, turn right on east Russ way drive..and so on.

As he arrived at the destination the small amount of alcohol had worn off and he was immensely confused by where he was.

He stepped out of the car and looked around. He was surrounded by trees, and it was a bit spooky since it was at night. But there was a bit of a magical feel to the whole thing as up in the trees there was a string of lights.

Dean took a deep breath and followed the only light there was in the forest. As he walked through the trees guided by the lights up above him he could clearly see an area ahead surrounded by more lights.

Then he stopped short as he came in view. There where the string of lights ended was Castiel, smiling nervously, and all of their friends an family surrounding the area looking at Dean expectantly.

And it was like a fog had disappeared. Dean snapped out of it as he looked at his beautiful fiancé and realized what this was.

'And I will fix you.'

And as tears started to fall down Dean's face, he realized that statement that Castiel had repeated so many times to him over the past few months had come true. Cas had fixed Dean.

'Lights will guide you home.'

Lights had guided Dean home. Castiel was his home and those little lights leading him here had guided him to it, also fixing him.

Dean walked down the small aisle that had been created and stopped in front of Cas.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to leave you like that.."

Castiel took Dean's hand in his and smiled the first real smile in months. "It's okay Dean. You're here now."

'Tears stream down your face.'

Oh how Dean's face was stained with so many tears, but this time they were tears of joy as his friends and family witnessed Castiel become Dean's husband and he kissed him softly again, for the first time in months.
