elijah had shown up three minutes late. he'd apologize at least fifteen times, before even acknowledging charlotte's replies of "it's okay, you weren't that late.". he stopped apologizing when charlotte placed a hand on top of his and gave it a reassuring squeeze. elijah smiled at charlotte, apologized once more and asked her how her day was going.
"it's going okay," she said. "yours?"
"my day is going okay," he replied.
the two made small talk and shared a small half vegetarian and half pepperoni pizza. (charlotte was vegetarian, but elijah wasn't. she didn't want elijah to give up eating meat just for her though).
when they finished their pizza and talking, charlotte invited elijah back to her place.
