"oh, hey, hi, hello," she was mustering up any possible greeting she could think of.
she didn't think it would be him that started the conversation. and to sat she was a bit awestruck when it happened, would be an understatement.
"so, um, you're the girl i bumped into the other day right?" he asked, not making eye contact with her.
the only thing that was going through elijah's head right now was 'oh my god, it's her again. it's the green eyed girl', and 'don't say anything stupid'. even though he was sure what he just said was stupid. it obviously was her, i mean, she'd recognized him after all.
"yeah, hah, that's me. sorry 'bout that by the way," charlotte said. "like, for bumping into you and like not helping with your books. sorry."
"no, don't apologize. it was my fault. didn't have my glasses on, and i got up too late to put in my contacts and i just- yeah." he was rambling. elijah was rambling and he needed to stop but he saw her smile and her eyes go a shade lighter than they were two days ago. he didn't think blue eyes could even be the blue charlotte's eyes were right now.
"it's okay," charlotte replied. "by the way, i'm charlotte. charlie for short."
"elijah. but you can call me eli, if you want."
