The alarm echoed painfully loudly in the dark room. A head shuffled under the maroon covers. The alarm kept on ringing until a lazy arm surrendered under the sheets and hit the top of the clock. There was silence for a moment until a whole body moved away from the bed, tossing the sheets while doing so, and towards the door.

The door was left open as the unknown body sloppily lanked towards another door across the hallway. The sound of running water filled the still house. The thin silhouette appeared from the room a few minutes later and went back to the room they began in.

After closing the door, the sleepy figure began to rummage through piles of clothing on the floor. They finally chose a few articles of clothing, including underwear and a pair of brown and tired shoes, from a few of the many piles scattered across the floor.

They began to apply various pieces of a mask on their face. First was the base of the mask, they made sure to apply it evenly using an egg-shaped sponge. Next came a thin brush applying a dark, curved shadow on top of both eyelids.

The mask was complete and they turned towards the mirror. Pleased with the artificial face looking back at them, they proceeded with the usual morning routine.

Hurrying downstairs, racing against the clock, they quickly looked in the fridge and was disappointed to see that no one filled their fridge with food like they dreamed. Packing as many things as she could into the brown sack, that they called a backpack, they rushed outside and knocked on the neighbor's front door.
