Kiba continues to watch, "You're so quiet.. Is there a reason?" Laura only shrugs, Kiba sees a faded cut on her arm. He doesn't say anything, instead he lets out a quiet growl. He barks out, "If you need any protection, I'll protect you!" Without any hesitation, he hugs Laura. She yelps and slips out of his grasp. He tilts his head in confusion, "it was only a hug?" Laura doesn't really know how to respond, she isn't used to hugs.
She glances at him, only to finally respond quietly "S-Sorry.." Kiba hears and he dies inside just a bit, he thinks 'She sounds so cute, but... I wonder who would dare bring any harm to her? I want to protect her, though I'm not sure if she'll accept my offer...'
He watches her eat, his heart flutters when he catches her with a small, grateful smile.

Laura is slowly walking home. The moment she gets home and shuts the door, she's welcomed with an empty bottle thrown at her. "I hope you had a worthless day." Was what she got, Laura manages to say, "I...had a good day today.." her dad shouts, "After dinner, you're sleeping outside." She nods. Her parents enjoy a nice full meal, Laura only was given half the slice of a bread.
After dinner, she's sent outside without any objections. She hears thunder roll in, she looks up and stares at the sky. She doesn't trust anyone or thing during the night outside, so she doesn't sleep.
She hears people chattering, suppose it was a couple talking up a storm.. Suddenly she's lifted from the ground and placed on her feet, she looks to see a man. The mean introduces himself, "the name's Choza. My wife and I couldn't help but to notice you were outside, alone, so we were wondering if you want to come inside with us before the storm?" Laura looks at the doorstep, back to Choza and nods. Choza takes her next door, his wife sees and calls for Choji about a new friend.
