Staring at the advancing form of my brother i stilled in confusion. A genuine smile was still plastered to my lips even as my palms grew sweaty.

Now is not the time to be nervous. He wont bite. I kept chanting over and over in my head.

I got confused as to how to welcome him. Was i expected to fall into his arms for an embrace? Draw him into my own arms? A tiny part of my head whispered that that would result to us falling and him crushing me to the ground. I don't even know what to refer him as- Ya Kamal? Yaya Kamal? Kamal or simply Yaya?

I have no idea what to do and i definitely know that I'm not expected to keep standing here and smiling like a dummy.

Like a pull i started moving closer to him until we both reached halfway.

That was when i faintly bowed and greeted him. With a smile he took a hold of my left hand and pulled me to his embrace muttering incomprehensible words under his breath.

"I still can't believe this" He mumbled atop my head.

The tender embrace was cut short when he withdrew and swept his eyes over me from head to toe before crushing me to him again. I felt the brotherly love coursing right through my veins. Nothing about our position was awkward, it was delightful and protective. I felt safe.

"Fatimah, it truly is you" was the only thing he said that made sense to me.

I smiled in response before he walked me into the house. Daddy wasn't anymore lounging in the sitting room which is as clear indication that he's giving us space to bond.

At first the conversations we had were stiff and gloomy even though i hadn't yet blurted out my past life to him. It was still a sore topic to discus about for me. It was until about fifteen minutes into our conversations that the tensed air left our presence and he began answering my uncountable questions.

A few seconds later Daddy walked in and joined us. "A little family reunion huh? How does it feel?" He asked. "Amazing" "Wonderful" we simultaneously replied. He nodded before ushering us to the dining area where breakfast was awaiting our presence.

We sat together as a family and took Pancakes with Honey, Maple or Chocolate syrup, Potato pies and Tea/Coffee.

After filling our stomachs to the brim Daddy excused himself to let us spend quality time with each other.

He told me stories about his 5 friends. Only. Mukhtar was among them, Tahir-Khadijah's husband too, then 3 more that I've never met- Jawad, Faruk and AbdulAziz. He told me about how they schooled together and that after attaining a Degree in Pharmacy he got enrolled into NAF base where he did a short service and became a Flying officer. I couldn't believe it. Pharmacy deals with medicines while Force the total opposite- how to injure a person 'legally'.

He told me that he was now taking a course in Bauchi state but he lives here in Kano. I got to know alot more about himself and his personality. First he's a person that looks like a bored brooding man, showing off annoys him, he's not planning on getting married soon. I asked why and he just shrugged it off saying he hasn't found the one and he's not ready for family drama. I found myself laughing at that. I would love to see who would capture this 'I'm against family drama' man's heart, she would have to work hard.

He presents himself as a hard, stoic and closed off person but i can feel it in me that he's a big softie from within.

After we chatted alot he asked if i wanted to meet his friends and other new people. I agreed immediately, i would need them. Daddy told me that.
