Chapter 7

Masky's POV.

Toby let out a long sigh.

"F-fine, I reminded myself of m-my d-d-dad."

"Why would reminding your self of your dad be bad?" I ask.

"D-don't tell anyone else w-what I'm about to tell you, o-okay?" He asks.

"Okay. I promise."

"My d-dad abused me, my s-s-sister, and my m-mom."

"Wait you had a sister! Whats her name?" I ask.

"W-what was  her name. She's d-dead and it was Lyra. She was the o-only p-person who truly cared for m-me." He says. I am overcome with so much guilt. His dad abused him and his sister is dead and all I have ever done of him is to make his life worse.

"I'm so sorry Toby." That's all I can manage to get out at this point.

"I-its not your fault. She died i-in a car crash I was in the c-car with her. I just r-remember her scream and then we were h-hit and she goes silent. Dad d-didn't show up at the hospital 'cause he was to busy g-getting drunk. Nothing c-changed after she died and with e-each passing night the urge to k-kill him got stronger and stronger until I d-did it. I killed him with a stake knife. T-then I stole his axes and with g-gasoline and some matches I set the r-road ablaze and that's when S-slender found me." He told me. He looked like he was dying to get that off his chest.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know."

"It's f-fine."

"No its not let me make it up to you." I say.

"M-masky real-"

Before he could finish his sentence I ran all the way back to the mansion. When I opened the door I saw that Hoodie was right there. Looked like he was about to leave.

"Hoodie I need your help!"

"With what?" He asks.

"I need to get Toby some kind of an apology gift."

"Well his birthday is next week. Do something then."

"That's great! Thank you Hoodie! I'm going to get Toby the best birthday gift ever!"
