The game is over.
Henry Chase, or so he claims ran at me with a celestial bronze dagger aimed for my throat. I shouted for Icarus to get Blue out of there. I didn't want either of my children getting hurt. I quickly sidestepped the attack and I saw Icarus pick you Blue from around the waist and lift her up in his arms and run into a different room.
He tried to slash at me, I caught his arm, yanked him towards me. Knocking the knife out of his hands, it clattered to the floor. He kneed me in the ribs. I grunted in pain.
The man was well-built skilled, a bit shorter than my eyes.
I didn't want to fight anymore, no matter how much I relished it, I couldn't have any skin cut due to the Achilles curse. I could break bones though.
I slipped under the punch thrown at my face. Bad form. and slipped on arm around his throat and the other force my arm to tighten on his neck. A head lock.
I kicked the back of his knees. And they hit the floor. My arms tightening around his neck cutting off his air supply. Soon, he is out cold. I make some nice looking shadow cuffs and put them on his wrists. So are stupid-ass-assassin couldn't escape on us.
No one *cough*me*cough* wanted to carry this boy/man back to the cells. I simply opened a portal to the cells in the palace in Tartarus and kicked him in. It may not have been efficient but it was fun.
I closed the portal when I had made sure that he wasn't going to escape. I tried to find Blue and Icarus and that was easy enough because they were just around the corner. Blue was lying her head on Icarus' shoulder while he sang a soft tune in her ear. I think to calm her down.
To alert them that I was approaching I made sounds when I walked toward them. Blue looked up from his shoulder and when I came close enough she jumped into my arms. I stumbled back from her weight, even though she did not weigh that much, the sheer force of her jumped made me take another step.
She started to cry into my shoulder as I ran circles on her back. It was too early for this.
"Hey, shh it's okay." She cried even harder. I looked at Icarus, this didn't happen when he was a boy, sure he cried, but he never cried like this. "Hey, Blue look at me." I gently nudge her to look up at me.
"I'm not going to die, alright I'll take care of you forever, I swear on the river Styx." I heard the rumble in the distance and that was promise I'll never break. Oh, did I mention when I adopted her she became immortal? Whoops.
She looked at me with big eyes. Her big green eyes held so much everything, from hope to pain, love to despair. I gently wiped away her tears as I held her with my other arm. She was seven and she was very small and short. She collapsed back onto my shoulder and rapped her arms around my neck.
I saw a clock that was running on New York time and it was 8:23, way to early for this. I could tell though that from all this crying and emotion coming from Blue that she was tired. I walked back to her room with Icarus going to his I opened the door to find the gray and white room. Obviously based off the night the bed was a hugh king that dwarfed Blue and made her look like a little bean. I tucked her in bed and kissed her fore head and pulled the blanket up to her chin.
"Go back to sleep, Agapi sleep some more." I quietly left the room to return to my own and shed most of my clothes and climbed into my own bed to snuggled back up with Bianca. The camp had the day off, no training no us. Every Saturday they had one day off. It was a good deal if you didn't want to die. So no one complained.
-
I could here knocking at the door. I fumbled around feeling the bed. No Bianca.
I slowing got up after they knocked again. I loosely pulled on some jeans not zipping them up with the button undone showing my boxers.
I opened to the door and I was surprised when I saw it was my father.
"Hey dad what's up?" I said my voice cracking in the middle of it. Tartarus just smiled down at me.
"Oh nothing much, besides the fact that you adopted a daughter without telling me that I have another grandchild." He mumbled in a grumpy tone with a smile on his face.
"Oh, huh, so um you wanna meet her?" I smile looking up at him hoping to lighten the mood.
And it succeeded with dad breaking into a big smile.
"Yeah that's why I'm here. Taking a little break from the complaining monsters. So, what's her name?" I smiled up at him as I walked back into my room to finish dressing. I picked up a different shirt though, it said. The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH gotta love 'em.
I walked back outside in the hallway and walked with dad towards Blue's room.
"Her name's Blue, and she's a daughter of Iris." He raised and eyebrow probably thinking I'd adopt an Ares kid or something. And to that eyebrow I raised on right back at her. We got to her door and I knocked. Hoping that she was in her room.
And soon enough she opened the door and smiled up at me but the moment she saw Tartarus her smile dropped and it was replaced by fear. I crouched low to be eye level with her.
"Blue, this is your grandfather, Tartarus." He gave Blue a small smile and crouched low to be eye level with Percy and Blue. "Don't worry he shouldn't bite." T grimaced in my direction and that got a small smile outta Blue.
"Hello Blue, don't be afraid of me, I'm not that bad, just ask your dad here. He'll tell you he almost wet him self when I asked his to be my son." She smiled at the thought and so did Blue, Percy just turned a deadly shade of red. "And know that your family loves you and would do anything for you. I can tell that Percy loves you as if you were his own blood daughter, and there is no higher compliment little lady." He gave her a cheeky grin and he stood up followed by Percy.
He could tell that there was an internal battle inside Blue and the verdict of it was Blue running over to Dad and giving him a small hug on the leg before running back into her room and closing the door.
We both smiled at the gesture and walked away.
And that is how life ran for the next ten years.
-
Ouranos didn't attack for ten years. The campers grew up to be the soldiers that they needed to be to win a war. And for the surface . . . earth, it was ten years. But down here in the Pit it was a hundred. Blue grew up, she lived with us in Tartarus though along with Icarus. We lived in my palace near the heart of Tartarus.
We didn't know why He didn't attack, maybe it was cause we wasn't awake, but besides that first attack at the beginning of the war there haven't been any moves in the war.
Until today.
