Metal is clanging. Boxes are shuffling around. My head is throbbing. My hands hurt so badly.
It's just a bad dream. It's just a bad dream. It's time to wake up. Wake up! Damn it!
I place my hoodie over my head and try to balance myself as the cage seems to rise up higher and higher.  I stumble over to a corner. With a loud bang, it all stops, and the force jerks me to the ground. I hear a siren. Talking and laughter echo along with animal sounds.
"Look at the greenie"
"Can't hide in that corner all day." They all laugh.
"Hey, greenie, come out."
All the voices mesh together. I can't breathe. My head is ringing. It's too much. It's just a bad dream.
Two strong hands press on my shoulders.
"Come on, greenie, at least get the shuck out the way.  I need to unload this box. "
"Don't-" is all I say before he hastily moves his hands off. My hoodie comes down. The light hurts my eyes. I squinted as the figure in front of me became much clearer. It was a boy. I look up.
They're all just boys.
Silence follows... no more laughing... No more talking. Just a ringing. Then darkness.

"Hey, she is waking up! Clint, go tell Alby."
Using my elbows I prop myself up to look around the room..
This kid can't be any older than me.
In comes who I can only assume is Alby.
"How are you doing greenie? All the guys thought you died when you passed out like that back there." He chuckles.
I'm too scared to look up at him. I keep my head down quietly looking down at my bruised knuckles and play with a loose thread on my sleeve.
"Looks like you put a fight before you got put in the Box."
Wincing in the memory of it. Being dragged. My back hitting the metal floor, then a blow to the head knocking me out.  It almost brings tears to my eyes.
I look up at the tall, mature looking dark skinned boy.
"Come, let's go get some air, and I'll explain this all to you." He seems trustworthy enough. I honestly just have to get out and figure out where I am.
Outside all the boys were working.
Where are the girls?
Of course, just passing by they began to stare and talk amongst themselves. Alby explains the jobs. The Walls. The lack of idea of why we are all there.
"Look, greenie," he lets out a heavy sigh. "I don't care if you talk or not, but nod if you understand. We can't afford any freeloaders here. Everyone does their fair share. By the look of your hands you have some fight in you. I know it's a lot of information to take in but you'll get one day to get it together. Understand?"
"Yes." I don't know what else to say. I don't know how to feel or think. I'm just numb. It's all surreal. Standing on top of this watchtower, looking down at all of them. Looking at the walls. Those thick, enormous walls. They make me feel so small. It's smaller than I have ever felt before, which wasn't saying much 'cause I can't even remember a before. My eyes begin to water. His hand gently squeezes my shoulder. It's just a poor attempt to comfort me.
"It's alright to-"
"Hey Alby, you're needed with something else." A boy with blond hair cuts him off as he works his way up the ladder. He's kind of lanky and boyish looking.
"Okay. Newt just take care of her. See you later greenie." Alby yells as he goes down the ladder.
Newt introduces himself and asks for my name.
"I don't know it. I can't seem to remember anything." I try my best not to break down. Some tears begin to fall. "I'm sorry. Sorry I know - " I hastily wipe them on my arm.
"Hey don't beat yourself up now. It'll come back to you. It took some of us a couple of days before we could remember ours." He awkwardly pats my back. "Come on, we have a party to get to."
Newt has an infectious smile and warmth to him. How could anyone be this happy in a place like this?
