Cassie's POV

My first day in University.

I dragged the excessive luggage along the stairs as I let out an exasperated sigh. I rested it on the 4th floor and I glanced at the endless stairs above me. What a great start. I wish my mum had just helped me move in to my new dorm.

"Do you need a hand?" a husky voice asked.

I turned around to see a strikingly handsome, tall boy. He had long blond hair with a seemingly toned body.

He smiled at me. The kind of smile that every girl would fall for. I felt my cheeks reddened.

"Uh.. yeah, that would be great!"

He grabbed my luggage with ease. "What's your room number?" He asked.

"It's 702."

He helped me with my luggage until we arrived in front of my dorm room. It was three more floors from where I had stopped.

"Thanks. I'm Cassandra, by the way. Cassie for short." I offered my hand with a smile.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Zach. Your next door senior." He chuckled, grabbing my hand and shaking it gently.

I felt that love bloomed. I was thrilled, looking forward to my freshman year in University.

"Sandra! Are you done packing your things? The cab is already outside!" my mum's voice snapped me back to reality.

"Oh, yup! I'm done," I grabbed the piled clothes that I fixed yesterday in a hurry and placed them inside my luggage as I zipped and locked it. I proceeded downstairs with the huge luggage in hand.

"I will miss you lots! Mum, Dad." as I gave them a hug.

I have been waiting for this day since I could remember. I wanted a fresh start, to get away from my old school which held too many memories that I did not want to look back to.

"Don't forget to come home once in a while." my dad said before hugging me tightly.

"I will. I love you both,"

"Sandra, are you sure you don't want us or myself to drop you off the dorm?" my mum questioned, even though she already knew the answer.

I shook my head no. I need to do this on my own to "teach" myself to be more independent. I forced myself to think that this will be a start for me.

"Well, okay. We will miss you so much. Don't forget to call us once you reach the dorm!" my mum reminded, her eyes becoming glossy.

"I will. The cab is waiting for me," I responded as I waved my last goodbye.

The cab driver was kind enough to help me put the heavy luggage into the trunk.

As I glanced from the back seat of the cab, my parents were by the door waiting for the cab to go. I smiled at them as I felt tears stinging to drop.

It's the day of my new life. I have a bright future waiting for me ahead. I am finally going to my dream university that I have been praying for.

University College London.

After passing by buildings and more buildings, towers after towers, I have finally arrived to my dorm. It was a long drive from Wales to my new school. Beside UCL was a dorm, where I will be staying for the next four years.

I hopped out of the cab and the driver helped me bring my luggage at the front door of my dorm.

"Thank you so much, sir." I smiled.

"Don't sweat it, kid." the driver answered as he walked back to his car.

When I applied for this University, they told me that the UCL dorms were run by the student body and that each year, they would select different people to carry out the role. The student council consisted of the top students and preps.

Classes won't start until Tuesday. Monday will be orientation which is very helpful for new students like myself. Today was Saturday and I have a day to settle in and make some friends.

I dragged my luggage to the second floor. I was told that my room would be at the corner end of the hall.

Oh no. The room keys. I forgot to take them from the management building across this dorm. I'm contemplating whether if I should just go take the keys from the management building or go to the room and hope for the best that my roommate is already there.

I go ahead for the second option.

I'm excited, yet anxious to meet my new roommate. I hope we will be close friends. Once I walked to the door that was supposed to be my dorm room, I saw the names posted on who will be staying with each other.

Room 205A
Cassandra Noelle Evans
Tiffany Lee

I knocked the door and waited for a few seconds, but no one answered nor opened the door. This time, I knocked harder. I fiddled with the door handle, but it was locked. "Um, Tiffany? It's your roommate, Cassandra. Can you please open the door?" my voice booming throughout the hall. A few more seconds ticked as there was no response.

I don't think Tiffany was in the room, so I guess I'll go get the keys from the building across this place. It's not that far of a walk anyway. As I turned around from the door, a short girl with dark black hair approached me.

"Are you Cassandra?" she asked.
