Billy Andrews had completely shut Alice out. Josie and Jane found about his rejection, both constantly teasing him about it at home. Alice let Billy be, enjoying not talking to him, though Billy would glance at her every now and then. Alice pleaded for Gilbert to come back to Avonlea so she could really express her emotion out loud instead of on paper.

Once again, Alice was dragged to playing Spin the Bottle. This time, Alice didn't have to go, even though Josie would have liked to see her brother jealous.

Anne spun the bottle and the boy refused to kiss her. Billy's laughs were heard the most, especially because Alice had to sit next to him. Cole volunteered himself and Billy began a chant, Josie joining in soon after.

Jane, Diana, and Ruby yelled at Billy as he was the main cause of this. Anne and Cole looked around them at the boys and Josie as they chanted. Tille, Moody, and Charlie all silent, scared to say a word.

Alice grabbed her milk from the floor in front of her and took a sip, enjoying the taste she wouldn't have until tomorrow. She stood up and poured it over Billy's gelled blonde hair. Everything died down and Anne kissed Cole on the cheek as it happened.

Again, Alice walked out. She pulled her coat on and her scarf. She walked towards home, stopping by the graveyard first. She set her things down and took a moment of silence. She breathed out, wiping silent tears from her face, and walked home.

"I'm going over to the Blythes. I'm going to stop by Mr. Blythe's grave. I haven't gone in so long, I'm afraid that it might look ruined," Alice told Angelica, setting her things on the table.

"All right. Be home before dusk," Angelica sighed.

"Thank you!" Alice pecked her on the cheek and walked out of her home again.

Alice walked towards the Blythe property, walking through the snow and cold wind. She found his grave and brushed the snow off the tombstone. She smiled at the grave sadly and sat upon the stone bench.

Not very far away, a carriage pulled two males to the house nearby the grave. The young man's eyes looked at his house. Everything was the same as he left it. His eyes came upon the graveyard and noticed the girl sitting in the cold.

He turned back to his friend who was taking in the area. He chuckled and wrapped his arm around him, bringing him towards the house. "Welcome home."

"Welcome home to you, too," he replied.

They stepped into the house and set their things down. He grabbed some firewood and started a fire for warmth in the quite cold of the room. "Hey, I'm gonna walk around for a bit. I haven't seen this place in a long time."

"All right, Blythe. You go on ahead. I won't stand it if it gets any colder," his friend said, getting closer to the fire.

He chuckled and walked outside, looking up at the unfamiliar girl at the graves. He trudged through the thick snow, walking closer to the girl. He was about to say something until he noticed the girl's lighter brown locks of hair. He smiled and cleared his throat.

Alice turned around. The sound of his voice clearing was all too familiar to Alice. At least only she would have found who the voice belonged to that quickly.

Alice stood up and turned around quickly. Her lips curled into a smile and she was quick to hug Gilbert, her arms around his waist. Gilbert smiled and wrapped his arms around her, kissing her on the top of her head.

Alice looked up at him, her smile still wide. Alice was about to say something, but another pair of lips crashed into hers, preventing her from speaking. Her eyes closed like a reflex and melted in his arms.

Gilbert pulled away, his cheeks red and not from the bitter cold. "I've been waiting to do that for-"

"Almost a year?" Alice cut him off. "I've missed you." Alice hugged him again.

"I missed you, too. A lot more than I realized, Allice Miller."

"There's no gold in Avonlea," I told Gilbert. "If that's why you're here, you can go."

"I never knew the weather could speak," Gilbert stated at her cold statement, comparing it to the weather. "No, that's not why I came back, but that's a disappointment."

"By the way, it's now Alice Johnson-Miller," Alice corrected him. Gilbert raised his eyebrow. "Angelica adopted me." Gilbert nodded and Alice remembered where she was sitting for the past hours. "Sorry."

"No, I'm happy for you. Besides, I've got you and Bash with me. Bash is going to stay a while at my place and you're welcome to stay - stop by anytime," he offered.

"That's very kind of you," Alice thanked. "I should start heading home. It was good - lovely to see you again."

"You too, Allie."
