(Jace's POV)

As soon as she walked out the doors, I heard a voice in my head.

'You're just going to let her leave. What the hell man?' Darius spoke to me.

Darius is my dragon. He's can be obsessive and aggressive but overall can be really nice.

"Yes, I am."

'Why don't you just tell her already.'

"Oh, yea. Sure that'll go well. 'Hey, I know we've only meet like twice but I'm a dragon and you're my soulmate.' She'll just laugh at me or think I'm a complete freak. I just need to gain her trust and that's what's happening."

'Yeah, yeah. How much longer till you reveal your plans for her?'

"Dinner is in a week. So, a week. Would you relax, I got this all under control."

I then went back to swimming some laps.

(Time Skip)

After I finished my laps I headed back to my room, hopefully Charlie is still asleep. I made it to my room and just as I was about to open the door, the door opened and Charlie was there holding my phone.

"Dude, you need to talk to your mom," he says.

"It can't be that bad," I tell him. But then again my mother is very persistent when she needs to know something.

"She called you like 19 times. Then she got a hold of my number. Nobody has my number other than you. Talk to your mother." he tells me.

That freaked me out a bit, Charlie was right he changes his number after every hooker he sleeps with. He hands me my phone and I slowly take it back.

Just as I walk into my room it rings.

"That makes it 20 times she's called. Answer it or I will answer it for you." Charlie says as he leaves to the bathroom.

I answered my phone then placed it by my ear.

"Hi, mom"

"Don't 'Hi, mom" me. You left without telling me where you were going and why." She raised her voice.

"Didn't dad tell you- Let me guess, he forgot." I say.

"Honey, this is your father we're talking about. Of course, he forgot. You're suppose to tell me when you're leaving, when you're coming back and why you are leaving."

There's no point in argue with my mother.

"I'm sorry, mom." I say.

"It's alright, sweetheart. Now why did you leave?" She asked.

I couldn't tell her that I found my soulmate yet. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up yet, including mine.

"I can't tell you why yet, mom. Please understand."

I was expecting her to get frustrated but she was surprisingly calm.

"Okay, dear. I trust you. Don't do anything stupid, please." She says.

I smiled and told her goodnight then ended our call.

I placed my stuff on my bed then changed into a pair of sweatpants.

"You saw her again, didn't you?" Charlie asked me.

I turned to face him and nodded my head.

"I don't understand why you're so interested in this girl anyway. You drag me on your cruise and don't tell me why and then you meet her. Why? Why is all I ask and don't feed me bullshit" he tells me.

I had to tell him, he was my best friend after all.

"That girl I've met, she's my soulmate Charlie."

His eyes go wide then he hugs me tightly.

"Dude, that's amazing. So, that means you had the mate dream, how long ago?"

I hesitated

"Six ... years ago," I tell him.

He lets go of me then slaps the back of my head.

"Ow! What the hell, dude?" I say as I grab the back of my head.

"You had the mate dream six years ago and you didn't tell me. I feel insulted a bit."

"I didn't tell anyone. Not even my own family. I didn't want to get everyone's hopes up." I explain.

"Still. So, what she like?" he jumped right into questions.

I rolled my eyes as I sit down on my bed.

"She's not like any girl I've met, Charlie. She's quiet, shy, she keeps to herself. She's different." I paused I'm not sure how he's going to take this next information.

"There's more. You're thinking. What is it?"

"She's human"

He sat down across from me on his bed.

"How is that possible?" He says.

"I don't know."

"How are you going to tell her? Do you think she's going to take this well?"

"I've made some progress with her. She's opened up to me a little. I've made dinner reservations at the end of the week." I tell him.

"You're going to tell her at dinner?"

"I don't think so. I want to wait a little while before telling her everything. But I'm hoping that she'll agree to come back home with me."

"Good luck with that, you better have a plan to do that."

"Now I feel insulted. I have good plans." I tell him.

"Not all the time. But I do believe you'll win her over."

"Thanks, I need to start planning the dinner."

Charlie just laughs at me.

"Dude, you should've done this ahead of time but no you leave it last minute. Night" He says as he goes to bed.

I opened my laptop and got work.

"Don't worry Talia, you're not the only one stressed about dinner" I whispered.
