We started out hating each other and wanted nothing more than to hurt one another.
Then by some coincidence we became friends.
In an instant we were no longer enemies,
We were now like family.
When one of us hurt the other felt the pain too.
When one of us were sad the other would shed the tears..
For several years we lived smiling and happy.
We shared all of our hopes and dreams.
We would encourage one another to follow our hopes and dreams even when it was hard to do.
Never in our life did we think our bond could or would be broken.
All too soon our perfect world we built came crashing down around us.
I learned you were sick and might not get better.
I tried to smile and make you feel like everything would be ok,
But only silent tears fell.
I could see the fear in your eyes that all might not end well.
You lay on a hospital bed now,
So pale and still .
Your eyes become vacany as your life leaves you.
I'm by your side crying and begging you to wake up again.
But you are still and in unmoving,
And with your death my heart truly breaks.
My friend, my family, my other half
Is forever gone.
