bambam had been diligently writing the notes from the board to his notebook when someone walked in and gave his teacher a pass, a pass that said bambam was being picked up by his mom.

bambam was told to get his book bag from his locker and go outside because she was there. he wanted to let his friends know but he didn't have time and he couldn't just walk into their classes.

bambam was nervous when he got into his mom's car because her face seemed sad but she didn't say anything besides asking how his day had been so far and if he wanted to get food from his favorite restaurant.

"mommy, what's going on?" bambam asked as they sat in the parking lot before going in to get the food they ordered over the phone.

"bambam, bun died this morning," she told him, reaching a hand out to bambam's arm.

"but i just saw him this morning. i gave him water," bambam said quietly, his voice quivering.

"i know, baby, but he was old."

bambam's mom went in to get their food, not surprised when she saw bambam crying when she got back out.

they went home. bambam got to say goodbye to bun but it wasn't the same. they took to him the nearby animal shelter where the lady nearly cried when she saw bambam crying.

they went home and ate, bambam hugging one of his plushies tightly as he did.

right after school ended, the phone was ringing with a call from mark. bambam knew it was mark.

"baby, where are you?"

"bun died," bambam said pitifully into the phone. his efforts to not start crying again were pointless because soon he was sniffing and tears were beginning to fall.

"oh baby, i'm so sorry. do you want us to come over? youngjae is still here, we can bring him with us."

"just you and jackie."

"okay, baby, we'll be there soon." mark hung up and was pulling jackson out of the school without even telling him what was going on until they got outside. "bun died. bambam doesn't want youngjae to come over."

they stopped to get bambam some snacks on the way to his house but were there as quick as they could. mark talked to bambam's mom while jackson rushes upstairs.

"hey, bammie, how are you feeling?" jackson asked softly, rubbing bambam's back. bambam's face was shoved into his pillow but anyone could still tell he was crying.

"miss bun!" bambam's voice was muffled and jackson was worried he couldn't breathe.

"i know, i'm sorry, sweetie. sit up, okay? me and markie got you some snacks and mark got his movies from his car."

bambam sat up, crawling into and curling up in jackson's lap. jackson hugged him, letting him shove his face into his chest.

"why did you want youngjae to come over, baby?"

"just want to be with my best friends," bambam told jackson, sniffling and wiping his tears. jackson was speechless with how cute his best friend was so he just hugged him tighter.

mark quietly walked into the room, setting down his case of movies and the back of snacks. he ran his fingers through the hair on the back of bambam's head to let him know he was there.

when youngjae called to check up on bambam because he hadn't seen him all day, jackson was the one who answered.

"bambam is watching a movie and i don't want to bother him right now."

the conversation ended in jackson telling youngjae what happened and youngjae being upset that bambam didn't want to see him, not taking the time to think about how bambam felt.

"i was going to tell him that you called but fuck you." jackson hung up, not noticing mark came downstairs. he told mark what happened after jumping when he saw him.

mark sighed, leaning on the counter and putting his face in his hand. for youngjae to get upset about bambam not inviting him over when his bunny had just died was extremely selfish and they didn't want bambam to be with someone like that.

they talked for a bit about it until bambam was walking downstairs with his blanket wrapped around him. he waddled over to him, wrapping mark in a hug inside his blanket.

"what are you doing down here?"

"i need to call youngjae since i didn't see him today."

"why don't you just call him tomorrow? jacks just talked to him and told him what happened so he understands."

bambam nodded, a bit relieved because even just talking on the phone seemed like a lot of work in that moment.
