"How fucked up, to you think that is, Diego?" I ask unwrapping the bloody bandage from my left hand.

That bastard busted my knuckles like a fucking balloon!

Antonio dabs my wound with a large alcohol pad before wrapping another gauge over the pad.

It stings like a bitch.

"I don't know, what came over me, then. I swear, I don't." He sighs fisting his hair on his hands. Pulling the strands out.

Bitch!

"Being younger doesn't make you irresponsible, Diego." Antonio maintains his calm as he dresses my wound. Unwrapping the earlier bloody gauge and washing them and wrapping them in a gauge again.

"I know."

"You don't know enough." I growl. "Because of your stupidity, people died, tonight. People who had nothing to do with your fuckedupness."

Diego sighs.

"I think you should send the girls and papa into protection." Antonio suggests.

"It'll mean we're backing off." I reason, fisting and unfisting it. Testing the tenderness of it. "It'll mean we're scared even before anything starts."

"Not sending them in protection will also give them the chance to take one of them random." He rolls his eyes.

"It's so cliché, Toni." Diego cringes. "No one kidnaps girls anymore. That's so overrated, bro."

"Shut up!" I snarl at him. "You're the reason it's all fucked up.

He sits back, head hung low.

This little bitch has no regret whatsoever.

He has no idea the danger he has put the family into.

" We're not putting the girls in protection. No one's going anywhere." I say. Antonio finishes the dressing around my stomach. I wince when he tapes it up too tight.

"It'll stop the blood flow." He answers at my discomfort.

"Another attack will be soon. They know I am injured and I am injured bad. They'll take the chance. They won't stab on the back, they'll fire, eye to eye." I conclude.

"I will call Don Martinez and will see if we can sign a truce. If he agrees, the attack on us, stops we help him through his drug transport and Diego apologizes."

Antonio nods. "Fair game."

"And if not, we take measures to tackle the attack. And still Diego apologizes."

"What I did was no mistake!" Diego shouts.

"What you did was arrogant and insolent and immature of you. And you apologize. That's all." I say with finality.
