Hi. I'm Lilytail, LightClan deputy. I suppose Jadestar told you about me? Ah, yes I see. Well, how about we pick up where Jadestar left off?

So, I was sleeping lightly when a very, very soft rustle startled me awake. I'm very alert, because I never know when another WindClan warrior is going to start a fight with me. They absolutely hate me!

Anyway, I looked up to find huge, green eyes staring at me. I nearly had a heart attack!

"Great StarClan above! Jadeheart, don't scare me like that!" I whispered softly.

"Sorry. I need to talk to you. It's very important," Jadeheart whispered back.

"Not here," I mewed, looking around cautiously.

"Okay, then. Let's go."

We padded out my makeshift den into the beautiful night.

My den was a bush a couple of fox-lengths away from the warriors' den. I had to sleep there, because like I said earlier, the other warriors would spring up on me to fight me. They hated me, and I hated them, and I was okay with that. So I had to isolate myself.

I led Jadeheart behind a fairly large rock.

"So?" I asked suspiciously. Then I saw the star on her forehead, glinting in the moonlight. That wasn't there before... StarClan had made her a Clan leader!

"Oh, Jadeheart! I can't believe it! This is incredible! Oh, wow!" I purred.

"Yeah, 'wow!' This is so cool. And exciting. And scary. Oh, Lilytail, I don't know what to think!"

"I think it's great," I meowed happily. "Who's in it?"

"I was thinking that you could be the Clan deputy. I mean, everyone deserves a second chance, right?" Jadeheart purred. Before I could reply, something snapped behind us.

"I don't believe in giving cats second chances. Especially to her," A voice growled.

Jadeheart and I spun around the rock. Oh, no! It was WindClan deputy, Deadfoot! If anyone hates me the most, it's him. I used to like him, but his general grumpiness towards me turned to hate after I had kits.

"Turn Lilytail in, or I'll make the both of you crowfood!"

"No. I won't let you do it. Besides, she's a deputy," Jadeheart hissed.

"What are you talking about?" Deadfoot snarled.

"StarClan ordered me to form another Clan. LightClan. And I appointed Lilytail deputy. If you take her, LightClan will make you pay," Jadeheart snarled back. I stared at her. She was so brave!

The WindClan deputy grunted then lurked off, away from us. Then he turned his head to us and growled, "Just know this: when LightClan reaches its height and glory, WindClan will the first to attack; I'll make sure to that."

A long silence, then: "Well that couldn't have gone worse," Jadeheart sighed, then padded off. I silently disagreed, but followed her anyway. She had just done so much for me. I couldn't possibly disagree with her and get her angry.

"Um, I think it would be best if we found a medicine cat. Right, Jadeheart?" I mewed, catching up to her stride. I wanted to at least be helpful.

"Uh, yeah," Jadeheart meowed distantly, as if lost in thought.

"Oh, and uh, my name isn't Jadeheart. Its Jadestar now," She meowed, already brightening. She purred happily and quickened her pace through the woods, as if the idea of her new Clan leader name made her happier by the second. Her being happy made me happy, and let me tell you, it felt great, because I hadn't been happy at all lately.

"Who's the new medicine cat gonna be?" I asked breathlessly as I had to break into a run. Jadeheart--- I mean, Jadestar--- thought about this for a moment.

"I know!" she meowed abruptly, stopping in her tracks. I bumped into her, knocking her off balance. She didn't seem to notice.

"Who?" I repeated, impatient.

"Oakpool! She's perfect for the job!" Jadestar practically shouted, apparently very happy.

"Shhhh! We'll get caught again!" I hissed. But I agreed. I really, truly agreed. Oakpool was the smartest cat I knew when it came to healing sickness and injuries. She secretly helped my kits when greencough was rough. Unfortunately, she couldn't save them, but she still was a great friend. She was absolutely perfect for the job!
