The walk was silent save for the sad, heavy thumps of the teenagers, all walking with their heads down, well all except Asha. Her head was lolled to the side as she hung onto Aangs neck, her legs around his waist as her carried her piggy-back style. He had insisted, and she couldn't say no.
The sun was currently blazing above them, beating down with it's heavy rays. Momo and Zulu were currently resting either on Raiko's head or in his arms.
"This is humiliating." Katara breaks the silence, her head still hung low.
"Do you mean getting thoroughly spanked by the Fire Nation, or having to walk all the way to the Western Air Temple?" Sokka looks up finally, his sister turning to meet his gaze.
"Both."
"Sorry guys, but Appa and Gumi get tired having to carry all these people." Aang takes a hand from Asha's thigh, petting his bison slowly and tiredly. If felt comforting to have the girl on his back, safe and sound. The loss they just took was a huge hit to his ego, but having her there made everything seem just a little bit better.
"I wonder how the rest of the troops are." Teo tries to carry on conversation, desperate not to fall back into the depressing silence.
"They're probably on their way to a prison. Seems like my dad just got out, now he's going back in." Haru continues look down, dampening the mood ever so slightly, if it could be dampened any more.
"I miss Pipsqueak."
"I miss not having blisters on my feet."
___
She didn't know when her eyes closed or when she fell asleep, but she was awoken by Aang sliding her down, ever so slowly. Asha's eye wince ever so slightly as the sun invades them, her bare feet padding on the grass as she walks to the cliffs edge, rubbing her crystal eyes.
"Hey, we're here. I can feel it." Toph stomps a foot, looking relieved.
"Uh, I think your feet need their eyes checked." Katara looks around, obviously not sensing or seeing what Toph is.
"No, she's right, we're here." Asha smiles, crouching and placing her hands on the ground.
___
"It's so different from the Northern Air Temple." Teo sits next to Asha, both looking up to and hour glass shaped fountain, The Duke standing, bored, beside them.
"Big time." Asha stands with minimal effort, her mind in all sorts of places. Places other than the temple; places like the battlefield, places like the houses with Aki. Places she never wanted to go back too.
"I wonder if there are any secret rooms." Teo looks over to the brunette, who nods with a happy smile; setting Haru, Teo and The Duke running off quickly after with yells of excitement. Asha would've done the same, but Raiko grabbed the back of her jumpsuit before she could so much as stand.
He pulls her over to where Katara has Aang held, both air benders on very, very, short leashes.
"Why can't I go?" Aang whines, desperate and annoyed.
"We need to decide what we're gonna do now. And since you're the Avatar, Asha's the Onsra, you two should be a part of this." Raiko plops Asha down beside Aang as he speaks, both air benders crossing their arms; Asha leaning her back on Aang's side.
"Fair enough. So, what's the new plan?" Aang grunts, itching to run, escape this interrogation.
"Well, if you ask me, the new plan is the old plan. You two just need to master all four elements, and confront the Fire Lord before the comet comes." Sokka sits on a stone bench, Toph providing more benches for the others.
