Summary; I don't really know, just a fic that takes place after Howard and Maria died. Includes Peggy Carter.

Includes swearing, a lot, and alcoholism, I guess...

Pretty short, I just made this after a bit of writer's block...

Also, an author's note at the end.

There was a light and careful knock on the door. Tony leaned back in his armchair, slamming the bottle of whiskey he was holding onto the glass table next to him. He muttered something ugly to himself and ran his hand through his greasy hair.

"I don't want another fucking interview!" he shouted angrily, looking to the wall and biting his lip.

The door creaked open, angering Tony even more. He took a deep breath, another shot of whiskey and swallowed. "Get out you goddamn fucking reporter!" he yelled, hoping it would scare whoever it was who was barging into his home.

When there was no reaction, he was now furious. He turned to face the door, looking ready to kill the intruder. Rip him or her limb for limb and toss them through a window. He was so done with himself, and why not bring everyone else down as well?

"Tony?" she asked weakly, stepping inside the ruined living room. A ghost of what once had been a wealthy and well-functioning family.

Tony's facial expression notably changed. His eyes slightly lit up, and his urge to kill someone was replaced with sadness and confusion. "Peg?" he asked, his voice harsh and raspy.

Peggy let out a shuddering breath. "Tony," she said sadly. "I'm so sorry I couldn't make it sooner."

Twenty-one-year-old Tony didn't reply. He bit his lip, standing up and walking over to Peggy. The Peggy that he hadn't seen since he was ten. Tony gave her a faint smile before hugging her tight.

"You're going to get through this," Peggy said, embracing the hug. "I know you will."

"I can't," Tony cried. "Every soul on this shit planet, everyone is working against me."

"I, uh, I talked to your dad's friend, Mr. Stane," Peggy said carefully, not letting up on the friendly hug.

"What did that asshole say, then? That I needed an injunction?" Tony asked angrily.

"No," Peggy said and turned to look around the room. Empty liquor bottles were everywhere. "But I do see why that would be necessary."

Tony finally let go of Peggy, sniffling and looking at her with his desperate eyes.

"We talked about getting you an assistant," Peggy said.

"What, because my mommy and daddy are dead, now?" Tony said, sounding offended.

"No, because you can't function like a regular human being. You were the same when you were little." Peggy said. "You're a walking calculator but you can't remember your social security number."

"Why are you coming back now?" Tony asked, changing the subject entirely. "I've been in ruins for two fucking months, and you have been absent from my life since I was a kid!"

"I'm sorry, love," Peggy said and looked to the floor. "That's my fault, and I don't expect to be welcomed back. I'm really sorry about what happened to your parents."

"A sorry from you won't change a thing, now, will it?" Tony shouted angrily, causing Peggy to wince.

Little did he know about the tremendous hunt Peggy personally was going on, just to avenge Howard. To kill that winter soldier figure, the one responsible for her best friend's death. But Tony couldn't know.

"You have done nothing!" Tony yelled, picking up an empty glass bottle from the floor next to them. He tossed it with all his power into the wall, sending glass shards flying over the living room.

"Anthony, honey, I know how you must be feeling," Peggy said, trying her best to mask her fear. "Let us help you."

"You can't help me!" Tony shouted. "You have no damn clue how it feels! You've never lost the only people you ever cared about!"

Peggy bit her lip and held in a few tears. She could feel the young boy's pain. But at the moment he was also dangerous. She made an impulsive decision to leave. The second she exited the door the sound of another bottle being thrown could be heard.

..

Tony banged his head repeatedly against the grand piano's keys. The set his mother was playing on just a few moments after they left for the airport. But they never got to the airport.

Nobody cleaned up after last weekend's incident, where multiple bottles were broken. Tony didn't care, and no one else was around to care either. A very familiar light knock could be heard on the door.

"Fuck off, Carter." Tony spat, finishing yet another bottle of alcohol.

The door creaked open, and Tony was ready to throw the still-full bottle he was holding. Instead of Peggy, was a redheaded properly dressed woman.

"Who the fuck are you?" Tony asked, looking miserably up from the piano at the girl.

"Uh, my name is Virginia Potts," she said awkwardly, scanning the messy room with her blue eyes.

"That doesn't mean anything to me," Tony said, looking her from top to toe. "What's your deal? Prostitute? You up for a session?"

She cleared her throat. "Uh, no, I'm a worker at SI, and I was asked to be your assistant by Ms. Carter,"

"Fucking hell," Tony mumbled. "You're doing this for the money? I can double what Peg's paying you, as long as you get out of here."

"I'm not accepting blackmail," she said, before taking a few sniffs of the room. "When was the last time you showered?"

"When was the last time you weren't a stuck up asshole?" Tony retaliated. "Get out of here."

"I'm not going anywhere."

A/N

holy shit guys...

I mean, 800 reads might not seem like a lot to some people, but I just gotta say that it's a lot more than I initially expected... wow... thank you all!

and sorry that I haven't updated in a while. the first chapters were all just copied from a document where I keep all my fanfiction, and not written on the spot, so that's why they were pretty long and updated regularly. I've also had a bit of writer's block, but I think I'll write a few chapters soon. please feel free to send requests!!

goodbye and thank you again for actually reading this!! <3
