I walked to the fourth period feeling like an emotional roller coaster. Marissa, curious as ever, wanted to know the detail of Elliot and I.

"So, are you guys a thing?" Marissa looked at me, twirling a piece of her hair.
"No, we're just friends," I answered.
"..but you like him, it's obvious," she responded.
I sighed, annoyed that she could see it, "I mean.. well yeah, kind of."

I told Marissa everything, like how Elliot was so charming and different from the other guys. He was like a mystery – one waiting for me to solve. I went home that night, thinking about everything. Thinking it over, I couldn't wait to go on that date with Elliot.

*Later that day*
"Mom, dad... I got asked out on a date.." I brought it to the attention of my parents.
"Who is the boy? Where will you be going?
When is the date? Are his parents coming to get you, or do we have to drive? How old is the boy?" My father unloaded question after question, throwing them my way.
"His name is Elliot Carter and he's a nice guy. We're going to the drive-in movie theater tomorrow night. He's driving so he's the one coming to get me, and mom, he's 17."
"He sounds decent enough and he's only 17... it's only a two-year difference. I don't see the problem with you going, have fun sweetie!" My mom's answer came as a surprise.
My dad, on the other hand, was a little more apprehensive, "don't you think we should talk about this?"
"Dad, I'll have him meet you guys before we go tomorrow. He's a sweetheart, honestly, and I'll be back before midnight. Oh please, let me go?" I practically begged my dad for his permission.
My father sighed, "Oh okay, fine. But he has to meet us first tomorrow."

*Night of the date*
Date night was finally here and I was extremely excited. I dug through my clothes looking for the absolute best outfit I could wear. Then, I found it – my casual floral dress. I've always received compliments when I wore this dress.

As the time ticked down, I realized I should text Elliot my address. About an hour later, he showed up and it was time for our date.

When I first opened the door to invite him in, I took a moment to admire how handsome he was. He looked so charming, his wavy hair looking soft. He was dressed in a black flannel with some dark jeans and a white t-shirt that fit his body perfectly.
