That being said, Enjoy :D

Chapter Eight- The hearing.

Is it normal that a mere sight of a person can make your heart race faster, give you an adrenaline rush that even the most dangerous sport cannot provide? You crave there mere look, the mere touch, just to feel the rush.

No, it’s not normal. It’s not rational.

But, that’s what makes it even more thrilling, the fact that there is no reason behind the rush, behind the passion which is ignited by the mere sight. It makes you feel so alive. On the edge. It feels forbidden, it feels dangerous.

It feels like nothing that has ever been felt.

Surely, James felt none of those things. At least that’s what he was telling himself as he stood partially under the cold shower which hit his warm, electrified body with raw force. James shook his head in frustration, water droplets flew everywhere. James was not able to control his thoughts and that irritated him to a level that was borderline insanity.

James grabbed a towel, and started drying off his wet hair, and made his way back to the main area of the club. He had already wasted too much of time humoring Ryder, now he had work to do. He had way too many distractions today.

As soon as he stepped out of the small shower room, his body could feel Vivian’s presence. James clenched his jaw, and looked for Tony. He noticed a group of people hovering over a person, who James was willing to bet, was Ryder.

James reluctantly made his way to Ryder. A part of his brain kept a vague tab on what Vivian was doing. It was becoming like a reflex for him.

James eyes widened a bit at the sight, he didn’t know he had injured Ryder so badly. Back in the ring, James had lost control for a moment which resulted in split black swollen eye, split lip and a swollen jaw for Ryder.

‘’I am—

Ryder waved a hand, cutting James off, ‘’don’t have to be sorry, Sinclair. I have felt way worse.’’ Ryder gave a small smile with some effort.

‘’I was just going to say I am leaving.’’ James muttered, making Ryder laugh for some reason despite the condition he was in, ‘’Tony,’’ James said as he saw Tony talking to some of his juniors, nearby.

Tony immediately came up to James, handing a ice-pack to Ryder, ‘’Ryder will help you with the recruitment, don’t take more than five. And for the increment in the salary, work it around say…five percent. Alright?’’ Tony nodded in response.

James turned to leave when suddenly he turned back, ‘’Ryder,’’ he said, Ryder looked up at him from his pained state, ‘’Grow up, and get your shit together, before I really hurt you.’’ And then he left.

Ryder knew this was James’s way of saying that he cared. James was a very twisted person, but for Ryder he was fairly easy to understand.

James gritted his as he made his way to Vivian. He hadn’t made any eye contact with her but still could feel her gaze on him. Still not looking at Vivian, he wore his shirt and his blazer.
