A soft breeze blows over the left side of his face, and he almost expected to fully roll out of his bed at this point, but was gently startled by the fact that it didn't happen, his body instead colliding with something warm. Slowly, Jooheon pealed open his eyes, peering around the unfamiliar room.
The blinds were a pretty beige, turned white by the sunlight as they swished in the wind. The sight was almost relaxing, only if he wasn't in a huge, unfamiliar room, under the covers with nothing but his underwear on. He jolted up, awaking the irregularity beneath the silk duvet, Hyungwon poking out a sleepy head.
Jooheon's eyes grew in terror. "Oh, no. No, no, no. NO."
"I know I don't look half as cute as I usually do in the morning, but damn," he yawned, pushing the covers to reveal a naked torso also. He gasped in disbelief. "everything okay?"
"What happened last night?"
"I don't know; you were super drunk so I brought you upstairs and-" he gasped, alarming Hyungwon. "put you to sleep - why, did you think that I-"
"No, not you - me! I'm unhinged and frankly quite thirsty when I drink so I thought I-" he sank back into the pillow. "did you leave after?"
"No, you asked me to stay so I laid down with you for a bit then ended up falling asleep until about 6am. Checked out the house and came back, have been here ever since," he sat up, reaching for his hand. "I will always wait for you. You being drunk wouldn't suddenly be a green light for me to do whatever; if anything I would rather take a step like that whilst being fully sober so I don't forget it. Although you did not make it easy last night, damn."
"That's really sweet of you. I'm sorry if I was a mess and you had to take care of me. Next time just put me to sleep and leave, I'll be okay," He smiled sheepishly, earning a lazy yawn from Hyungwon as he pulled him back into his arms. "what's it looking like beyond the door?"
"Most of the ground floor has been taken care of but there are people I don't even know sleeping in the other rooms, not a clue where our friends are though," he responded. "I heard Minhyuk mention that they left, I think? I don't know I was as high as a kite by then."
"Oh, cool, I'll just call Changkyun later to check up on him, in the meantime, I think I'll just stay here."
Hyungwon laughed. "Decent plan."

The air was so thick inside the car that he believed he would have passed out had Kihyun not pulled up at Hyungwon's driveway. Immediately, Changkyun climbed out, bumping the door shut with his hip all whilst avoiding even thinking of the pink haired boy, who seemed to do the same.
There was what felt like a mile distance between them, feelings and words that once ran taut between them now loose and mangled together, on the verge of snapping. He hung back, allowing Kihyun to ring the doorbell before stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"You okay?"
"Yeah," Changkyun hurriedly answered. "you?"
"Yeah."
Jooheon opened the door, fresh faced and frankly, far too fucking awake for someone who was so drunk last night. "Good afternoon, my dear but rather fake friends."
"Do you have your stuff?" His best friend nodded obediently. "Let's get going, tell Hyungwon I said goodbye and thanks for the party, by the way."
"Will do; where is he, by the way?" Kihyun asked, halfway inside the mansion.
"In the kitchen, also bye, my favourite angry gumdrop," Jooheon smiled, and he arched an eyebrow before shrugging, disappearing into the hallway as the door closed behind him. Changkyun stared at his feet, hoping Jooheon was potentially still drunk and didn't notice the sheer awkwardness of that moment, but he was quickly proved wrong as his best friend looped an arm around his. "Im Changkyun, I suggest you begin talking."
