Louise and I sit down at a table eating our Lunch, we have just been talking.

Every year my family and Louise's family come together for Christmas. Our family are really close even though we are really different.

I live in a two story house with the luxury of my own bathroom and flat screen tv.. while Louise has a small house with money difficulties.

We both love each other very much and I support her with money, I offer her money of she needs it but she declines it saying that she'll be alright. I believe her.

"So.. what did ya do for New Years?" She asks

"We just went to Sydney and watched the fireworks" I say "what about you?" I ask

"We went to the entrance to watch the firework" She smiles. "Beckie.." She says

She only calls me that when something is wrong.

"Yeh" I smile

"I-uh-um." She stutters

"What's wrong Lou?" I ask "You know i'm always here for you"

"The owner of our house is threatening us to move out of our house if we don't pay our rent by tomorrow" She says "Mum isn't getting paid till next week and i'm worrying because we don't have the money!" A tear falls down her cheek.

I pull her into a hug.

"Shh. Lou, it'll be alright." I sooth

"Come to my house after school.. bring your family" I say

"Okay" She smiles

Finally the end of school bell rings. I called mum before telling them all to come to Bec's house after school. We are both gonna walk.

I meet up with Bec outside the school gate.

"C'mon" She says and we walk towards her house.

Once we get there my family is already there inside. We walk inside and I still always am greeted by the beautiful big house.

I see my Mum, Dad and Brother, Jack all sitting on the couch with Bec's Mum and Dad.

We walk in and sit down.

"So.. like to tell us why we are here?" My mum smiles asking me

"I actually don't know. It was Bec's idea" I say and turn to her

"Okay," She smiles looking at her mum and dad. "Lou's family is like my own family and for Christmas we got you guys a gift" She smiles again "Don't feel bad or anything because it doesn't mind us, we just want the best for you. It kills me to see my best friend and her family struggle.. so that's why we have .. for christmas .. bought you a house!" She squeals smiling like a maniac.

My jaw drops and my family's faces are shocked.

"No.. we can't take it." my mum says and Bec's face drops

"Okay.. just please come and look at it with us?" She asks

"I don't know" She says

"Please" Bec pleads

"Okay fine" My mum sighs

Bec stand up and walk out the front door leaving us confused.

"You guys coming?" She asks

"Uh, yeah" Everyone says

I run up to Bec.

"You didn't have to get us a house" I say

"Oh shut up" She smiles

Bec walks across the street and a few houses down stopping at a two story brick house. My jaw drops again.

"Your kidding me!" I yell

I look over at my family's faces and see their shocked faces.
