Hyejin's POV

Taehyung and me were walking around the store, looking for some clothes for the short life escape.

But then, out of nowhere, a woman suddenly came towards me, running, and pulled me into a tight hug.

I slowly pulled away from her, as she looked at me with tears brimming in her beautiful dark brown eyes.

"I'm sorry, but do I know you?", I asked, trying not to sound rude.

The woman then held my shoulder, as she looked straightly into my eyes, before shocking me with her answer.

"I'm your mother, Hyejin."

My eyes widened, as I looked at Taehyung who seems to be surprised as well.

"M-my mother?", I gasped, looking back at the beautiful woman in front of me.

She nodded, a tear slipped out of her eyes, as she cupped my face, "I've finally found you," she said lowly.

"W-wait, but how can I be sure that you are really my mother?"

She gave me a warm mother smile, as she fished out an old picture, as she handed it to me.

I looked at the picture, and there is my father in it, the younger version of the woman in front of me, and a little boy.

I was in 7th grade in that picture, a very happy little girl, carefree, as I looked back at the woman.

"Is this really my...family?", I asked, as she let out a chuckle, giving my head a gentle pat, smiling warmly.

She then shifted her attention to Taehyung, giving him a smile, before approaching him.

"And who's this?", the woman asked me, as I looked at Taehyung. "He's your boyfriend for sure,"

"N-no, he's not!", I objected, before standing next to Taehyung, shaking my head in total denial, as I just laughed it off.

"He's just a friend," I added, looking up to Taehyung, "Am I right, Tae?"

"Um, yeah,"

"See? We're just friends," I smiled sheepishly.

We ended up chatting in a coffeeshop, and eventually spent hours talking about random stuffs. "Oh my, Hyunjae must be waiting for me! I should pick him up now," she said and was about to leave.

"Wait!", I said, as she stopped at her track, slightly turning her head to me.

"See you later,"

She smiled, nodding, and shifted her attention back at the front, making her way out of there.

"..mother,"

She stopped at her track again, as she turned around, and walked towards me, before cupping my face gently.

She leaned in to place a soft peck on my cheek, giving my head a little pat, and only then, she eventually left.

I sank back into my seat, as I continued sipping on my drink, staring blankly at the table, as my mind started to think of the possibilities of who that Hyunjae guy might be.

Is he perhaps...my little brother?

"Yah—"

"Shit, you scared me!", I slightly flinched, my hand clutching onto my heart that almost died because of Taehyung appearing like a ghost in front of me.

"You were the one who were so deep in your thoughts," he argued, sipping on his bubble milk tea.

"Fine, it's totally my fault. You were never wrong," I said sarcastically.
