Once back at Idra's, I quickly packed a bag containing my clothes and all my makeup. But one thing was missing... alcohol. Cautiously, I walked downstairs into the dining room. I knew idra kept a whole cupboard full of alcohol and she surely wouldn't miss a few bottles. I grab a bottle of pink gin and a bottle of archers and stuff them in my bag. "Aunty Idra? Please could you drop me off at Clarke's?" I ask nicely. I walk into the living room, my bag digging into my shoulder since I had two full bottles. Idra looked over to me from the couch and smiled "So you've made friends then? Of course I'll take you." I text Clarke on the way to hers so she knows I'm coming:
Hey Clarke it's Lexa, on my way. See you in 5 x
We pull up to thin house with about 5 floors, bigger than mine back in New York for sure. I thank Idra and jump out of the car. Confidently, I knock on the door and wait. The heavy sage coloured door slowly opened revealing Clarke with her blond flowing hair and ocean eyes. "Come in" she said smiling, someone's in a good mood for once. As I make my way up to her room I notice all the family pictures hung up on the walls, they look so happy. Clarke's room was just now expected it to be, kind of girly. Her walls were a pale pink, the double bed covered in plain white bedding, a few flower patterns around her room and her makeup sprawled everywhere on her vanity.
"So where do we start?" Clarke asked looking exited. I thought about it for a second, "let's pour some drinks. In fact let's just drink straight from the bottle," I say while smirking. I could read her face like a book, I know she'd never done anything like this before; she doesn't seem the type to go out partying.
I pull the bottles out of my bag and hold them up for Clarke to see, "your pick." She looks at me raising her eyebrows and giggles, she's so cute and... innocent. "Pink gin? Just because it's pink, I don't actually know what it tastes like." I open the bottle, take a sip and pass it to her. She looks at me nervously, "it's not going to kill you babe," I say while laughing.
Once we've both drank for a little while we decide to play some music and start to get ready. "So what are you dressing up as then?" Clarke asks.
"What do you think? The devil of course! And I take it you're going to be an angel?" I reply, Clarke looks at me with a surprised smirk.
"How'd you know? Now it looks like we meant to go matching," she says giggling to herself. She really isn't like any of the other girls at school trying to fit in. I mean she really is cute I can't deny it... but costia, I couldn't just forget about her. I love her and that's not suddenly going away. Getting out our dresses we start to get undressed, I couldn't help but keep looking over at Clarke. She was so small but still had curves, she looked so perfect in that white dress.
"C-can you zip me up please?" Clarke asks. I walk over to her in front of the mirror and move her hair. As I zip up her dress I notice a few bruises on her back and I run my fingers over them, looking at her with a concerned expression in the mirror so she could see me. Clarke suddenly looked down, looking ashamed of herself. Something wasn't right, they way she reacted to me seeing. I do up the zip and sit down on the bed, trying to take in what I've just seen.
—— next chapter
Clarke sits down next to me, her head hanging low. Someone must have done that to her, but who? Someone in her family maybe? "Clarke, wh-" I go to speak but she cuts me off. "Lexa don't worry I'm fine." She says, her voice shaking. I knew this might not be the time to talk about this and I can't force it out of her, it's up to her to open up to me. So instead I have to distract her, make her as happy as I possibly can and we can talk about this later. "Let me do your make up?" I ask while lifting her head up gently with my hand, staring into her blue eyes. Finally, she looked up at me and gave me a small smile. Once we were ready, Clarke's mum gave us a ride to Echo's.
I jumped out and gave Clarke my hand as she stepped out of the car. We walked up to the mansion of a house, the walk way lit up alone the edges with lights and fairy lights converting the outside of the house. Someone's rich, no wonder she's seen as popular.
As we entered Clarke stopped and pulled me back by my hand and looked down, I asked what was wrong but she didn't answer. "Come with me," I say softly, we walk back outside the front of the house and see people going in the side entrance so we follow not really knowing where it leads. A thin path lead to her back garden which looked more like a neatly kept forest with benches and... a pool. People stood outside drinking and smoking so I lead Clarke by her hand to a bench hidden away by some bushes. "Don't leave me in there, okay?" Clarke firmly asked. I nod and promise to her that I'll never leave her. We head in the back doors, Clarke still firmly gripping my hand.
Entering the party, music blared from speakers placed all over the bottom floor of the house. Everyone seemed to have some sort of drink in their hand, dancing and singing, most of them already drunk. To be fair me and Clarke weren't 100% sober but we weren't as far gone as the others for sure.
"Shall we find Finn and Harper?" I shout to Clarke since it's so loud. She seems unsure at my question at first, maybe because she didn't hear me but then registering what I said she nodded confidently. We walk around until we find them playing beer pong and taking shots. "Hey guys," I shout, they see us and give us both a hug. I ask Clarke if she wants a drink, "you said you wouldn't leave me," she said worriedly. I don't know what's up with her. I know it isn't my place, but I feel like I need to protect her; from what? I don't even know. I take her hand and lead her away to find us drinks and I pour us both a jack Daniels and coke to which she chugs. "Slow down Clarke, you'll be off your face before 9."
