-Chapter.Two

-Kaylee Scott.16 Yearr's.

I was laying down in the bottom of the bunk bed. My arm behind my head, just staring up at wall. Today was my last day. Four years and I was finally free. I would have glady took many more years if it mean Lizzie or Zep would have gotten it in trouble too. At least probation. Because then they would break that and get sent away like I did when I was only 12 fuckin' years old. But nope, they are both still living in the real world. Innocent of any crimes. No one to tell them what to do. While I'm stuck here.

I sighed. It wasn't actually that bad. My father's an important man so he got me in a good place. I can't say I'll miss the place, but I have lived, er slept here for four fuckin' years. I have memories in this place. I had friends in this place. I wasn'tsure if I was redy to come home. I mean, sure they locked us in cells but we had a bathroom. Wit a door. And we didn't have to shower together like you see in the movies. The food was half way decent.

And I knew every trick in the book on how to sneak out of the cells at night. I'd go and hang out in the courtyard and get some fresh air. I'd sneak back in before anyone realized. I had been here for a long time, so that meant I had a high status in here. Which meant I automatically got the respect from everyone.

''Kay, you sleepin'?'' Bianca asked me. She was my roomate. She had been here for about two years now for shoplifting. She wasn't a real criminal, no matter how much she wanted to be. She was like that, a wanna-be thug. She was younger than me, so she looked up to me with shinning eyes, thinking I'm the baddest thing she's ever seen. Hell, she could have my track record if she wanted it.

''Na, I'm awake.'' I mutterd.

''So I guess you're leavin' today, huh?'' She asked, her fingers fiiddling with her shirt.

''Um ..yeah.'' I said.

''Oh. Okay.'' And with those two words I knew she was going to miss me. But she knew it wasn't cool to say so.

I closed my eyes, wondering what my hometown looked like now. Was it still the same? Did everything change?

I thought about Lizzie. Was she still on the streets doin' buisness with Zep? Maybe she got shot in a drug deal. Or maybe a snowman came alive and ate her. Nahh, we don't get snow much where I live.

''Scott! Let's Go! You're rides here!'' Jenson yelled.

I got off the bed and squared my shoulders, not sure if I was ready to face the real world.
