"Are you packing?"
"No, should I be?"
"Considering we are going to the airport tomorrow morning, you might want to think about it Di."
"Well, Joseph, in case you hadn't realised. You've booked this place and have not yet told me what I need." The sass oozed from Dianne's voice as she turned to face Joe.
"Oh oops. You need things for the cold. So your big coat, boots. Stuff like that."
"Okay. Now I'm even more confused than I was before."
"All will be revealed tomorrow" Joe said in a mysterious voice before he backed out of the bedroom, pulling the door to behind him and walked downstairs. Back in their bedroom, a very puzzled Dianne sat cross-legged on the floor in Joe's wardrobe, surrounded by some clothes that she was moving in in place of some of his old ones that had been gotten rid of. Dianne pushed herself up and walked downstairs into the spare room where most of her things were and packed for the cold, her brain buzzing away the whole time to try and work out where they were going.

"Are you all packed?" Joe asked as he came into their bedroom in the evening. Dianne, who had left Joe to edit a video, was already in bed with the duvet pulled up to her chin and her laptop playing some new series she had found.
"Yep." She nodded her head. "I've got stuff for cold weather like you said. And I haven't even over-packed."
"I'm impressed." Joe took his t-shirt off, slinging it into a wash bin in the corner and, leaving his joggers on, climbed into bed next to Dianne. It was her automatic reaction to move closer to him so soon enough, Joe found himself with red hair sprawled across his chest, Dianne's head having made its way onto his pillow, resting just above his shoulder.
"You are not sleeping on my pillow. I'll get too hot and sweaty."
"Fine." Dianne hauled herself back over to her side, whining as she felt the cold sheets underneath her. "It's coldddd." Joe, whose protective boyfriend side couldn't stand to hear sadness in her voice- even if it was put on- reached across and pulled Dianne back to him, wrapping her in his arms from behind and kissing her neck.
"Better?" He mumbled into her soft skin.
"Much." Protected by the love of Joe, Dianne felt at ease and dropped off to sleep fairly quickly. Joe, slightly nervous about whether Dianne would like their little holiday, took slightly longer but eventually he too fell asleep comforted by Dianne, breathing her scent in with every inhale.

The faint sound of an alarm drifted through Joe's peaceful sleep, bringing him back to his senses. He slowly opened his eyes to see red hair in front of him, the back of Dianne's head only inches from his face. They had fallen asleep cuddled together and stayed in the same position. Joe rolled over slightly and, extending his left arm, stopped his alarm and turned back into the same position, burying his face into the nape of Dianne's neck. He kissed it lightly multiple times in the hopes of waking her up. Feeling the lips against her neck repeatedly, Dianne started to come out of her light sleep. She moved her hands from where they were tucked under her chin and stroked her fingers over the arm resting against her waist.
"Morning gorgeous" Joe whispered as he felt her gently stroking over his arm.
"Good morning" Dianne said, her voice thick with sleep. In Joe's arms, she rolled over to face him and let an innocent smile dawn her face. "Where are we going?"
"Just because you're smiling at me like that and because I'm sleepy does not mean I'm going to tell you." Joe smiled sweetly much to his girlfriends annoyance. "But we do need to get up now." He kissed her nose gently and got out of bed.

"Joeeeeee" Dianne moaned for about the twentieth time since they'd woken up this morning. She loved surprises but at the same time, she wanted to know what Joe was planning- only he wouldn't tell her. They were in the airport now, sat in a restaurant having some breakfast, watching fellow fliers rush past them to get to their flights. Dianne had tried to trick Joe into letting her in on the secret on multiple occasions but she had soon come to realise that there was no way she would be able to get Joe to even drop her a hint. Somehow, Joe had managed to get them both through the airport without Dianne finding out where they were going. But now, as their gate was due to open in around half an hours time, keeping the secret was getting progressively harder and Joe knew that soon enough, Dianne would put two and two together and be able to find their flight on the board and subsequently find out where they were going.
"You'll find out soon Di."
"But Joe, you may as well tell me now. Can I at least have a clue?!"
"It's cold?"
"I already knew that" she sighed, exasperated.
"Then no."
"Ugh."

Twenty minutes had passed and Dianne hadn't said another word to Joe. She was concentrating on editing a video and seemed to be taking her frustration out on the keys but Joe was too immersed in his own world to notice. He was also editing a video and some photos for his Instagram. On Dianne's laptop, she pressed 'cut' once again on a clip and sat back with a sigh of what could only be relief. She saved her edit and turned her laptop off, closing the lid and slipping it into her bag. Dianne wrapped the headphones around her fingers so they were tight and put them into the front pocket of her bag. She drained the last mouthful in her smoothie and looked at Joe with a grin.
"Joe?" His head shot up and he burst out laughing, much to Dianne's annoyance.
"What's funny?" She asked, the grin on her face having quickly been replaced by a look of utmost confusion.
"You" he said through laughs. "I'm not telling you. Stop tryna catch me out." A woman's voice echoed through the airport as she read out the gate that had opened.
"That's us" Joe said. "Let's go."

"Right, Dianne this is our flight number." Joe pointed to the number on his paperwork, "now look on the board and it'll tell you where we are going." Dianne read the number and looked up at the board, reciting the digits over and over and over again. She scanned the board and found it fairly quickly, reading across the line.
"Finland?!" Joe didn't speak; he just smiled. "Is there gonna be snow?!"
"I hope so. Come on." Joe took Dianne's hand in his and walked over to the gate.
"Finland here we come."

"Oh my god, Joe there's snow!" Dianne tapped Joe, who was asleep, vigorously on the shoulder as she saw the fluffy white covering the ground beneath them through the  window. "Joe, Joe, Joe!"
"What gorgeous?" Joe's voice was thick with sleep having just woken up.
"There's snow!!" Joe leaned over Dianne and peered through the window.
"Oh thank god for that. I was worried it would have melted." As he moved back, Joe kissed Dianne's check and settled back into his seat.  The seatbelt light went on overhead and both him and Dianne buckled up, preparing for landing. Overcome with excitement, Dianne entwined her fingers with Joe and watched the ground through the window. Rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand, Joe admired the giddy redhead beside him; he still couldn't believe his luck at finding her. They stayed holding hands as the plane descended, only letting go when it was on the ground and parked up. Joe got their overhead luggage out and they joined the train of fellow passengers getting off the plane and filing into the Finnish airport.

"Joe how did you find this place?!" Dianne asked as they walked down the trail leading to their treehouse.
"Because I'm just amazing."
"You are, but seriously. How did you find somewhere so...us."
"Instagram. It's full of many wonders. I think this is ours." Joe led the way round the back to the door of the treehouse and unlocked it easily before pushing down on the clean silver handle and opening the polished wood door. He stood aside to let Dianne go through first. With an excitable grin painted on her face, she stepped past him and went into the room. She gasped softly. "Joe, this is so cool!" He followed her in and wheeled his suitcase through to the bedroom where he left it to go and join Dianne, who was laid out on the sofa, looking at the view out of the window.
"It's amazing here Joe" she said softly, "it's so peaceful and I love it. Thank you."
"Anything for you." Joe walked towards his girlfriend, leaning over her to let his lips graze teasingly against hers. Snaking her hands around the back of his neck, Dianne brought their lips together as she sat up slowly, crossing her legs in front of her. As his hands found the cushions of the sofa, Joe lowered himself onto it so they were both sitting. Reaching out, he wrapped his arms around Dianne's back and pulled her towards him gently. Joe laid down, Dianne on top of him, and let his hands run from her back down to her bum and back again, leaving them to rest on the dimples of her back. They both smiled as they broke apart for a split-second before Joe reached upwards and touched his lips against hers once more.
"I love you" Dianne whispered with a shy smile as she kissed his check before cuddling into his shoulder, her hand resting on his chest.
"I love you more." Joe held her tight.
"No."
"Yes."
"That's not possible" Dianne whispered, seconds from falling asleep.
"It is."
"No..." Dianne let out a happy sigh as she closed her eyes and cuddled into Joe's neck.
"You mean the world to me Dianne. You've no idea how important you are to me, no idea at all" he said in a low voice, knowing that she wouldn't be able to hear him. But she did. It made her swoon but she was too tired to show it. Pursing her lips, she kissed his neck delicately before giving in and falling asleep, a happy smile glued to her face. How did I get you?
