Out of His League

(3) Roadside

A month later on a Saturday night Brock and Hensley were headed to Atlanta from Macon when his Audi R8 broke down 10 minutes from their town. Brock popped his hood and smoke came out and he groaned. "Great.." he said 

"So are you just gonna stand here or are you gonna fix your car?" she said

"I am not a mechanic Hensley Danielle. Just call one of the girls come pick you up and I'll have the guys come get me." he said 

"And what about your car?' she said 

"I don't know.." he said 

She sighed and pulled out her phone and googled the closest auto shop. "Barnes Auto Shop" was 10 minutes away. She pressed the call button 

"Barnes Auto Shop this is James" Bucky said 

"Hi this is Hensley Dallas me and my boyfriend are stranded on the side of the road his car is smoking we are at mile mark 355." she said 

Bucky smirked on the other end and said "I'll be right there." he said and hung up. 

"God what a fucking idiot." Bucky said to Sam as he got the tow truck  keys. "Who was it." Steve said from the under the car he was working on.

"Brock Thomas and Hensley Dallas." he said 

He got in the tow truck and drove to where they were. Brock looked up "Barnes.." he said 

"Lucky you."Bucky said 

"Be care ful try to not scratch my baby." he said 

"I wouldn't dare.." Bucky said as he hooked it up. 

"You go with Barnes Coop is coming to get me." Brock said 

"Are you serious?' Hensley said 

"Yes Coop's car is only a two seater I figured you had called one of the girls not the auto shop." he said 

"I don't mind Hensley" Bucky said as he wiped his hands. 

"So much for anniversary dinner Brock." she said as she got her purse out of the passenger seat of the car. Bucky opened the passenger door of the tow truck for her "Thanks" she said in a low tone. 

"Welcome" he said as he shut the door. 

"I'll have your car fixed by 3 tomorrow Thomas." he said

"Thanks Barnes' Brock said 

Bucky got in the truck and made his way back to town. Hensley kept her head down. "Do you want me to take you home or do want to call someone?' Bucky said 

"I' just texted my dad to meet us at the Auto Shop." she said in a low tone and wiped tears. 

Bucky squeezed the steering wheel tighter when he saw the tears rolling down her face. "Okay." he said 

They pulled into the auto shop and had Sam help him pull it in. "Damn what a car Thomas" CLint said 

Mr Dallas pulled in with his sleek black escalade. "Thanks for picking up the car and bringing me here James" she said as she walked out and got in her dad's car before he could say anything.

"What's her deal?' Steve said 

"From what I gathered Brock just bailed on their anniversary date." Bucky said as he popped the hood. 

"Damn.. that boy doesn't know a damn thing does he." Sam said when they saw that his car was a mess.

"We will be here all night Barnes" Clint said

"So .. the girls are on some weekend girls' trip with their moms not like you three have anything to do." he said 

"True" Sam said 

They all started to fix Brock's car but all Bucky could think about was Hensley's tears and how hurt she was and how he would never do that to her. Mainly cause he knew how to fix a car if he was every stranded. 

The next day Brock had Cooper bring him to pick up his car Bucky was off but Sam was there and he paid Sam and left.
