Gracie POV
"Great work everyone," my dance intructor Ms. Dawson said as she walked around and clapped her hands. "Gracie, can you stay after for a bit?" I simply nodded my head since i was taking a huge swig of my water from my water bottle.
"Great job Gracie," my dance friend Madison said as she walked passed me. We didn't go to the same school being as her parents are making her go to an all girls private school and i go to a public school. "Lunch Saturday?"
"Wouldn't miss it." She smiled at me before she walked over to her boyfriend John and they left hand in hand.
"You wanted to see me, Ms. Dawson?"
"Yes." She turned around from the mirror to face me. She was fairly young only being in her late 20s. She looked like she was only a little bit older than me. Her hair was tightly pulled back and fell in soft ringlets down her back. She took over the class for her sick mum. "You did a great job today. And i was thinking about you being the lead in our next recital. I want you to be Charoltte."
I stood there with my mouth open. "Me? You want me to be the lead?"
She nodded. "There's going to be some talent scouts and colleges reps there that i want you to see. I want to show them how great you are."
I nodded. "I won't let you down."
"I know you won't. You can go now." I nodded as she walked into her office waiting for her next class to begin. I didn't even change out of my ballet shoes. I was too excited to get home so i grabbed my bag and rushed out to my car.
"So you're going to be the lead," Harry asked at the dinner table with food in his mouth.
"Don't talk with your mouth full," mum said as she smacked Harry on the back of his head. Darcy and i contained our laughter.
"I'm proud of you," dad said at the head of the table. He smiled widely at me.
"As am i," mum said across from dad. I smiled and picked at my food. "Gracie, you have to eat."
"Mum..."
"Don't mum me. The doctor said you have to eat more. Do you want to go back into that hospital?" I shook my head in defeat."Then please eat."
"And don't forget to take your pills," dad added. I only nodded again. Darcy nudged me and sent me a smile. I smiled back at her.
"So are you going to do it," Robbie asked as he leaned against my gate on my balcony, his arms crossed.
I shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe."
"I think you should do it." His smile was soft and kind. It sent shockwaves throughout my whole body. I just leaned closer to my door, it shut tight so mum and dad wouldn't know he was here. "Why are you so far away? I'm not gonna bite."
"I... um...."
"You've seen really flustered or something. Is everything okay?"
"Y-yeah. Just... thinking about stuff."
"You can tell me you know. We are friends, are we not?" There was that word; Friends. I dreaded that word so much with him. I don't know why i did. He has a girlfriend who's the school slut and hates my guts for no reason.
"Of course we are."
"Then why are you so afraid to talk to me?" He started to walk closer to me till he was right in front of his face.
