Ch8- Mom

It's been a week and Alex was just drawing, minding his own business as always when a knock came at the door. Julia answered it and got a package. She set it next to Alex and said, " Here, this is for you, Alex." Then she smiled.
"For me?" Alex was confused.
He opened it to find A PHONE. Alex was surprised yet shocked to see this. Alex tried to give it to Julia,"N-No, this c-can't possibly be m-mine."
Julia giggled and pushed twards​ Alex, meaning that it was his. He put it down and jumped on Julia and at least tried to give her a hug. "THANK YOU MOM!"
Alex stopped. He looked at her to see she was shocked. His ears went back. "I-I meant J-Julia..", Alex tried to correct.
Julia just simply gave him a warm and kind smile and gave him a little hug back. "Alex, I'm not mad you called me mom, it just caught me off guard... You can call me mom if you want to, I really don't mind."
Alex's ears went back up as he smiled and hugged her some more. Then he said something to Julia that felt like he would say that to a family member, "I love you Mom, thank you again."
"I love you too Alex," then she put him down on the table next to his new phone, "And don't mention it."
Alex opened the box and got out the phone. Alex then was confused on how to set it up. "Hey, mom? Can you help me set up this phone please?"
"Sure!"
Julia set up the phone for Alex and gave it to him after it was done and her number was on it. Then he wondered, "Hey mom? Can I get Dave's phone number too?"
She was fine with that and she gave him Dave's number and went to start cooking dinner for them. Julia was actually kinda happy that Alex was now calling her mom. She had always wanted a child, but never found the right guy. Alex, to her, was her child. Even if he was a chipmunk. She did love him. After 3 minutes of the noodles boiling, Alex came into the kitchen and started to help her cook. He's been learning, and he's quite good at it.

After Dinner, Alex went to bed, and that was the first night Alex said, " Night mom, love you.."
Julia smiled, "I love you too..."
Then she turned off the lights and Alex fell asleep.
