|Road Chip pt7| Ch23- The Mistake.

"I dios mio! Dave's gonna propose to Samantha tonight!" Simon says as he jumps on to the table with his brothers. "Wonder what gave that away? The romantic dinner, or the engagement ring..." Miles says in a little tone that sounded kinda happy. He sits next to me.
"Alvin, what are we gonna do?"
Simon asks. And Alvin says something that I can't believe that came out of his mouth. "Absolutely Nothing!"
I was sceptical. I guessed that he must've done something. "What?"
"Alvin's right.... I mean, it hasn't been so bad... Maybe... We just do nothing." Miles says that kinda sounds happy?
"Nothing?! Guys nothing isn't a plan!" Simon says.
"Sure it is! Good luck proposing without this!" Alvin says as he pulls out the ring under a lid. "Alvin?! When did you get it?!" Simon asked in shock.
"I grabbed it from his bag five minutes ago!"
I looked at Miles. I say sadness and pain in his eyes. The others celebrated. I walked to Simon and put a paw on his shoulder. He looked at me and I shook my head no. Once I did that, Miles left. We all followed Miles out the door. "C'mon Miles! Come celebrate with us!" Alvin said. Not helping! "Yeah, you ruined Dave's proposal and now we don't have to hang out!" Miles says offended.
"Wait Miles, that doesn't mean we can't be friends!"
"Yeah!  I thought we had a good time in New Orleans!" Simon added.
"Yeah, so did i! But then I saw you dance like you won the super bowl when you found out that we're not gonna be family. So, see ya!"
Miles walked away and put his earbuds in. "Miles wait! I can explain!" Alvin says. "C'mon guys!" We all chase after Miles. We go on top of one of those newspaper things. There was a pole right next to us. They tried to reason with him. But then a car came by. He was texting. Not paying attention to where he was going. "Uh, Miles?!" Alvin said.
My body was taken over by instinct and I ran and jumped into the pool. I used one paw to hold on to it and, thanks to my speed, I used my feet to run in fast circles and once the third circle came around, I jumped to Miles. I flew in the air. I moved my arms twards him and pushed him out of the way. I closed my eyes, bracing myself for impact. I got hit by the car and my body flew to a different pole on the other side of the street. My right shoulder was hit and I felt my shoulder pop in pain ad the bone was dislocated. I fell to the ground in pain. I went emotionless so I didn't feel that much pain. The others rushed over to me as I sat up. Mile bent down in front of me. "Alex!" Simon screamed as he went over to me.
"Are you ok?!" Miles and Simon asked in unison.
I grabbed my right shoulder. I hissed in pain as I relocated it back to where the bone is supposed to be. "Better..." I say.
I bring my emotions back as I smile and Simon straight up hugs me tightly. "D-d-don't do that again!" Simon stuttered. "I-i thought I was g-gonna l-loose you!"
"I'm ok Simon, just had a dislocated shoulder that I relocated." I told him. He stopped the hugging and kissed me on the lips and pulled away after 10 seconds. "Alex.... You saved my life!" Miles says. I smile at him.
"Well, it's as we always say, you mess with one of us?" I began.
"C'mon, don't make me say it, it's so stupid." Miles giggled. "Miles, he just got hit by a car for you!" Simon says.
Miles finishes, "You mess with all of us!" We all cheer a little bit.
"Miles, we haven't been fair to you since day one. And the truth is..." Alvin says as he looks at me and Simon. Simon nods in approval.
"You'd make a great brother!"
Miles looked so happy! "I feel the same about you guys!"
"Looks like we're gonna be family after all!"
"Exept for one little detail.." I begin. "By stealing the ring, we've effectively ruined the proposal!" I say. I wasn't family, yet. But Miles had earned my trust. "RIGHT!"  Alvin says. "C'mon! We have to get that ring and return it!"
We all hurry back to the room where the ring is. But then we find the babysitter talking on the phone with her friend. "I don't think she knows she's here..." I say as we sneek onto The table. "Ahhah!" Alvin whispered as he grabbed the ring. We started to head out until the babysitter says, "I don't know what you're talking about! I like that he's hairy!"
"Hairy? You say?" Alvin says as he looks at her. Me and Simon hold paws as we look at her with a blank stare. Sorry, lady! But Simon is mine!
After we snapped the others out of it, we started to head twards the elevator. "Guys, their reservation was at 8!" I say.
"But we still have time to save the proposal." Alvin says.
The elevator opened and we hurried out. I saw Suggs. Oh no... "It's Suggs!" I said.
"He found us!" Simon says in worry.
"Miles, you gotta get the ring to Dave!" Alvin said, reaching out for Miles to grab the ring.
"I'm not leaving you guys!" Miles said.
The guy that he was talking to pointed to us. "We'll distract him just go!" Alvin says as Miles takes the ring and we all run away. We acted like we were hood ornaments on cars and Suggs didn't see us until Alvin moved. "Hie....ya." Alvin says. Suggs tries to grab him, but Alvin jumped over him and said, "See ya!" I see what he did there.
We ran to the elevator. "HURRY! PRESS THE BUTTON!" I say to Alvin. He pressed 5 and the door started to close. But just as we sighted in relief. Suggs put his hand in they was as he opened the door. "Hello boys!" He says in a sick tone. He breathed in. "This is ironic. We're going up, but I'm taking you boys down..."
"So here's what's gonna happen. I'ma turn you into homeland security and their gonna put you in a zoo for dangerous animals. And if you ever escape from that, I'm gonna have an order to have you stuffed and I'm gonna give you to Anna in hopes that she takes it back.." He says. I really want him to move on. So I decided to say what's on my mind. "Look, Suggs. I'm sorry to what happened with your girlfriend. But it's over between you two. Listen, if she broke up with you over a song you played, then that's her loss. Find another girl that'll make you happy and find someone that won't judge you and respect your likes! Don't let Anna drag you down. When you hung out with us at New Orleans, it was like I saw a Suggs that was the happiest man alive BECAUSE he forgot about his ex! So please, forget about her and move on.... Trust me." I tell him. He only stared at me until, "Guys!" Simon whispered. We look up to see Simon and Theo outside the elevator and in the shaft. "What's going on?!" Suggs asked.
Alvin pressed a button and Simon turned off the power to the elevator. Me and Alvin hurried out of their as Suggs tried to get us. Before I we did anything else I say, "Please and least try and move on and forget... please.", and with that, I closed the trap door and we left Suggs in the elevator.

"Miles!" I say.
"Hey! Where's-" I cut him off.
"Officer wanna suck my left pinky toe? Let's just say his elevator got stuck." I say and Miles laughed.
" Has Dave proposed yet?" Simon asked.
"No, but their at desert. Shouldn't be long."
We see Dave hand the box to a girl as he sits back down with Sam. I see Mom at the table next to them.
"Excuse me sir, we have a strict no pets policy I in this restaurant." A guy says.
"Pets?!" I say in disbelief.
"May I ask you to please take your... Meerkats home.."
"Meerkats?!" Alvin said in disbelief as well. HOW COME NO ONE KNOWS WE'RE CHIPMUNKS?!
He called a guy over. "Can you escort these...things out of the restaurant?"
"Alright... We know when we're not wanted guys." Alvin says. Then. He quicky said. "EVASIVE MANEUVERS!"
We ran past them as we doged them grabbing us. "YEAH! GO ALVIN GO!" Miles says.
Alvin jumps to The table where they are. I heard Dave say, "it sounded like someone said Alvin.."
"You're probably imagining it." Sam tried to reassure until Miles said, "ALVIN!" As he threw the ring twards him. Alvin caught in as if he was in a cliche movie and landed on some ice. Then used a bottle to jump to their table. We all get there as well. Dave wanted to scream Alvin until He said, "Dave, I know you wanna say it, but please hear me out!"
Sam and mom looked at me and Miles.
"MILES?!"
"ALEX?!"
They say in unison. "We can explain. Everything!" I say.
"Oh, well I can't wait to hear this!" Dave says sarcastically.
Alvin tells him the reason we came to Miami. "Oops, I ruined the surprise... Look, when Alex got hit by a car-"
"Alex got hit by a car?!" Mom and Dave said in unison.
"Don't worry guys, I'm fine." I tell them. "I was just saving Miles's life." I tell them.
"Wait. He what?!" Sam said in shock.
"Look, the idea is that after all that, we like the idea of you two being together. And we've changed our minds!" Alvin finished.
"Yup!" Simon says.
"It might not be a family that fits into frame, but it's you're family and their proud of it." I say.
"Guys, that ring isn't mine!" Dave says.
"So... You're not proposing??" Sam asked.
"I'm sorry Sam, but no.."
"OH THANK GOD!" Sam sighs in relief.
"I mean, that's not what I meant. I mean, not that I couldn't see it happening one day! I mean, uhh..... Not that I'm expecting it to happen.. But I mean, if it did happen.... I'm spiraling aren't I?"
"A little."
"What I mean is.... I would love to take things slow cause I really want this to work."
"Me too."
"Uuuhhhh, I'm a little confused. If the ring isn't for you... Than who?" I ask.
"I was holding it for Barry, my sound engineer! Now I gave him an empty box!"
"It's not empty..." Alvin says and I look over in shock as he proposed and a breath mint was in there. She left. Poor guy..
