"You've been living a lie your whole life. Don't you want to avenge yourself from the people who kept you from the truth?"
"I don't know where to begin."
"Well, it's really easy. First, you have to become one of us."

"The world is a chaotic place, right?" Jaehyun snickered as he folded his arms across his chest. He blankly looked out the window as strangers pass by from various direction. The street was once again busier than ever.
I sighed. "It is. I listened to the news last night, thinking the same thing."
Jaehyun cleared his throat and breathed out in dismay, pouting his lips and scrunching his nose. "I failed to arrest the drug dealers down town." He averted his eyes to the other side of the room as his shoulders droop low in defeat.
"I am a total failure. I wasted the squads time and effort. We had a raid and nothing was there. The dealers must've figured out our plan and escaped in the time being. I couldn't help but resent myself for being irresponsible." He added, looking disdained and devastated.
I reached out a hand and gently patted his elbow with a concerned look. I batted my lashes and said "You will solve the case soon." I leaned back with a half-smile painted on my calm face.
"You know that's quite impossible. I basically flopped the whole thing."
He unceremoniously sighed one more time, this time remorse plastered all over his charming façade. "You should be extra careful nowadays, Ji Seul. Sightings about the notorious gangsters have been very active lately. They're merciless as reported. They've been roaming around the streets in Seoul. Some of the witnesses were harmed after they've seen the so called gangsters."
Stunned, my eyes widened at his words. I then suddenly recalled everything that had happened to me yesterday. Those men in black suits. The middle-aged man who almost got killed. The atmosphere being inside the narrow alleyway. The loud beating of my heart. The blood splattered all over the floor. The guy with a cigar. The feeling came back to me and it was as if I was stuck in that moment all over again.
"Hey," Jaehyun called out. "Ji Seul?"
I couldn't afford to move my mouth all of a sudden. Nonetheless, Jaehyun shook my shoulders. I was brought back to the real world.
"Have you perhaps seen them?" He queried with curiosity.
I nodded. His face then twisted in apprehension. Anxiousness written all over his face. "What did they look like?"
"T-they were wearing suits," I stammered, feeling my heart pound flashier. "T-they had hats. . . masks. . . bandanas. . .they looked like monsters." I continued with an unstable small voice.
"H-how did you see them?" Jaehyun leaned forward, placing his hand on top of the table for support as he bended closer.
"I. . . I was trying to save someone from getting killed. . . . And they were there."
Jaehyun's jaw dropped open. His brows were knitted together and his face contorted in disbelief. "Why would you jeopardize yourself in that kind of situation?! You were unarmed. You don't have any some sort of weapon. You only even know basic self-defense attacks!" He yelled. His voice latched with rage.
