Just who does he think he is?
You hear the shower door opening and soon enough, water starts running.
You let your body fall on the bed and you stare at the ceiling, the room is barely lit up by the small yellow light of the lamp next to the bed. But you don't mind, you love low lights... Although, why does he use a lamp? It's almost dusk, but there's still enough light outside, why are the blinds closed?
Weird...
Your eyes focus back on the ceiling, while your thoughts focus back on the main topic: everything that happened in the last 2 days.
You got drunk with a stranger one night, not thinking much of it, not thinking anything of it actually, except how fun he seemed. But now, just a few hours later, you're on a huge road-trip with this stranger and with his friends, that you don't even know, going god-knows-where to meet god-knows-who and do god-knows-what.
It all happened in the blink of an eye for you and now, you have no idea what you have gotten yourself into, you knew something suspicious was going on with them, and regardless of that, you took a chance.
But that dream... that's worse than anything you could've imagined. Yeah, it was just a dream, but what if it wasn't?
No way... it's surely not something as serious. Jungkook's probably just messing with you, that wouldn't be a surprise... Right?
The bathroom door opens.
Speak of the devil, that was very quick.
Jungkook comes out, hair still wet and messy. He looks at you but doesn't say a thing.
He's never very talkative, you noticed this a few times already, he's definitely not an introvert, he messes with you whenever he has the opportunity, but he's also not an extrovert. You love that about some people. It's like you don't need to say something for it to be understood.
If you see a beautiful bird in the sky, and you see the eyes of the person laying next to you sparkling up, you know they saw it. You don't say anything, and you two can just sit there, enjoying the beauty of what you're seeing, in quiet.
Jungkook always strikes you as that type of person. It's one of the rare things you understand about him.
He puts his towel to dry and sits next to you. "Ok I'm listening, but I can't promise I have all the answers you're looking for."
You sigh and suck on your bottom lip before speaking up "I already realized something is going on here, and I realized that none of you are very talkative about what that is. But I have to know some things Jungkook, I can't just follow you like this without knowing exactly what's going on."
Jungkook was staring at the floor with a blank expression. He raised his eyebrows and looked at you to tell you to continue.
"Why do they all hate me from the beginning? Taehyung, Jin and Namjoon I mean." you ask.
He takes a breath and looks up at the ceiling, he expected that question, but still seemed bothered by it.
"It's not personal, and no, they don't hate you. It's just that, it's been us 7 for quite a while now, and I'm not really the one to make those types of decisions." He answers.
"Uhm, you 7? Is this a Totally Spies Boy-Gang or just a very strict group of friends?" you say sarcastically, but he doesn't laugh.
"It's not just a friend group Y/N." Glancing at you, his seriousness immediately wiping the smile off your face, his impact is crazy.
"So what is it?"
Jungkook thought about what he was going to say, but he realized that he has to say the truth because, you're with them, you're really in this now, there's no going back.
"Let's say... hm... Ok, so, some time ago, this guy called Hoseok, one of us, you'll meet him tomorrow, was as average as any other person in his town. But one day... well, shit happened, injustice."
"What happened?" you ask.
He seems hesitant. "It's not my place to tell you. I'm sorry."
He stops for a second before continuing the story "Anyways, he was furious, he realized this happens to so many people all over the world, good, honest people." You notice the avoidant look in his eyes, this must be personal for him too.
He continues "...and the rich and the powerful, they think they're above us, they have more than any of us and way more than they need, but yet all they do is take."
He sighs and scratches his head, then brushing his hands through his still wet hair. "So Hoseok had enough, he decided to take action, trying to bring what was right. Then he met Namjoon, who had a similar story. They decided to work together. Little did they know in the end, there would be 7 of us, that is, 8 with you."
"Wait I don't get it, what do you mean 'bring what was right'?" you ask.
"Sorry, I can't answer that, you'll have to talk to Namjoon about that, you have to talk to him anyways, he's kind of the one in charge of everything, so also of deciding who joins, he's kind of our leader I guess. It's already a huge risk that I'm telling you this. But I thought you had the right to know parts of it, at least for now." He says worriedly, looking at you.
You both sit there in silence for a few minutes, but you decide to break it, by getting up and taking your key. " I guess I'll be on my way, I'm still pretty tired. When are we leaving tomorrow?" you ask.
"I guess around 3 again." He says quietly with a soft voice. It seems like this brought back some bad memories, he seems so serious, and also, just sad. Whatever happened in the past, it hurt him.
It makes you second-guess your judgment of him, as well as the person he shows off so confidently to the world, all while hiding behind a huge playboy mask.
You notice you start feeling a certain empathy for him, but stop yourself soon enough.
"See you tomorrow." You say, and exit the room.
"Goodnight princess. I'm glad you're here."
Seriously? Was that sarcasm as usual, or was he serious?
It actually did seem pretty serious... weird.
Exhausted, you walk to your bedroom and fall into a deep, long-awaited sleep.
A/N
Extremely unedited.
Kinda short, but a more serious one :)
