The visual of the crease in between his hairy eyebrows, the slight flare of his nostrils and the irate look in his irises had you shaken to the core.

Watching T'Challa's loose fingers curl into a closed fist as he stared at the Gorilla man had you praying that he didn't react. However, instead of displaying his emotions you watched his jaw clench before he gritted out a muffled greeting at your baby father.

"—ah, what a surprise to see you here. What made you finally decide to start swinging down from the Jabariland after avoiding ten years of invitations?"

The patronizing tone was coated thick on T'Challa's vocal cords as he addressed the Great Gorilla. "Um, I assumed that when you threw this event you would be willing to let bygones be bygones, but I see you have been preoccupied entertaining my ex-wife."

Smirking between every word M'Baku allowed his eyes to drift from T'Challa's to the yellow material hugging your curves making the King of Wakanda step forward as he moved your body behind his blocked the arrogant man's view.

"Preoccupied? That's the shit you've been out here doing with this woman." T'Challa stated, with a head nod in the direction of his concubine. "No, I deserve more credit than that especially since I'm out here taking care of your kids, providing my woman with the unconditional love, orgasms and support that you lacked." The King rebutted, making M'Baku's eyes darken while his lady shifted in her stance.

Reaching his hand back to touch yours T'Challa held it before pulling you forward, "Now if you'll excuse us we have an event to get back to, but please feel free to enjoy our selection of bananas or skip out on lunch to leave early." He encouraged, with a wink to the eye before walking away with you trailing behind.

Throughout the rest of the event, you and T'Challa never parted as you kept a firm grip onto his forearm and greeted the remaining guests. With this powerful aura surrounding both of you, the guests couldn't help but flock around the most powerful couple.

Who wouldn't want to see a powerful and successful black couple collecting a bag together?

As the lunch in the garden commenced you sat next to T'Challa listening to the chosen speakers address the issue of inner cities lacking funds and necessary resources for the youth. With your heart grieving you chewed on your seasoned food trying to listen to the speakers, but you were highly distracted as the King whispered about M'Baku's antics across the yard.

"—do you not feel his stares? Oh, this man doesn't know how to keep his eyes to himself. If he keeps his eyes on you I won't hesitate to jump across this table and personally cawl his eyes out." He threatened, as a prominent scowl settled deep into his features.

Glancing over at M'Baku's table you spotted the Great Gorilla quickly avert his eyes to his concubine as if he wasn't just burning a hole in the side of your face. Exhaling at his antics you took your eyes off of the large man and focused on calming your angered boyfriend. Placing your hand on his knee you gripped underneath T'Challa's chin with the other. Turning his head to face you, you watched his appearance soften as his features relaxed, "—hey. Look at me, usana."
