Online dating was probably one of the most nerve-wracking things in the world. You never really knew who you were talking to. That was the case between you and Pietro. Both of you were too nervous to meet the other. What if he wasn't who he said he was? Pietro felt the same about you. He was famous after all. You could be pulling his leg, trying to get close to him. Then again, you could be genuine.
When Pietro first saw your profile, he was intrigued. You sounded like a fun person who could keep up with him. He'd taken a gamble posting his actual picture on his own profile before he messaged you. The first thing you said was: "You're not fooling anyone with that pic, buddy." At first Pietro had been offended, but then realized that this might be a good thing. If you were being truthful anyway.
That was how it all started. You began messaging back and forth every day. First through the dating site itself and then through email. Pietro didn't mind keeping on like this. There was no pressure with you. You kept everything real. The emails were almost always flirty and it made Pietro smile. Then one day, you emailed him your phone number.
That day, you went from emails to texting. Whenever Pietro had a break from filming, he would text you. Any chance he got, Pietro was on his phone. He couldn't get enough. "Do you not think you should meet this person, Piet?" his sister and manager asked. Pietro shrugged. He had thought about meeting you in person for a while, but something kept holding him back. What if you weren't ready to meet in person? He didn't want to pressure you.
"I think you should." After that, Wanda let it go. But Pietro was still thinking about it. He was already half in love with you after emailing and texting for a few months. He thought about it all day long. Even though he was working, his mind kept flitting back to you and whether or not you'd be willing to meet in person. By the end of the day, Pietro had accomplished nothing, but he'd made up his mind. Before he could talk himself out of it, he sent you a text.
Would love to meet in person. I wrap up filming this week. Perhaps we could meet up this weekend? You pick the day, place, and time. If you'd rather not, I understand.
Pietro waited the rest of the day, but no answer came. He fell asleep with his phone in his hand. His sleep wasn't peaceful since his mind was full of worry. What if he'd scared you off? His worries were soon put to rest when the vibration of his phone woke him. He shot out of sleep and nearly dropped his phone.
I'd like that. I'll text you details in a couple of days, once I know my schedule.
Pietro grinned. He fell back asleep with that smile on his face. He couldn't wait to meet you. If your online conversations were any indication, Pietro was going to fall hard and fast once he met you. He had seen your profile picture of course, but he knew that pictures didn't always do a person justice. To say he was excited would be an understatement.
*a few days later*
Pietro's leg bounced up and down while he waited for you. He had his sunglasses and a cap on. He didn't really want a bunch of paparazzi around when he met you. "Pietro?" He looked up and saw you standing there. He was right. The picture did not do you justice.
He shot up and wrapped his arms around you, his hat coming off in the process. You returned the hug with a laugh. "Nice to meet you too." Pietro pulled back with a dazzling smile. A light breeze ruffled his silver hair, a dye job for his current role. "Holy crap. It really is you."
Pietro laughed in disbelief. "I told you, yes? I used my real picture. I've told you everything about myself, most of which you cannot find online." You were staring at him. "I feel like an idiot. I really thought you just used that picture to get interest. Before I talked to you, I thought you may have had some insecurities with your looks. I never thought you were actually the Pietro Maximoff." Pietro laughed again before he grew serious again.
"You are not disappointed, no?" You shook your head. "Why on earth would I be disappointed?" Pietro grabbed his hat and placed it back on his head. "I know it is not easy to be with an actor. Especially someone with my reputation. I am certain you've seen the tabloids." You rolled your eyes.
"I don't read the tabloids. Besides, I like to think I've been talking to the real Pietro. The sweet and charming guy who loves his job and his sister more than anything else." Pietro nodded. "You have, I swear. I really thought you knew." You shrugged. "So really, the tabloids don't matter, Pietro. I want to go on dates with you and hold hands with you."
Pietro smiled. "And kiss me, no?" he asked with a flirty wink, making you laugh. "That too. Because you know what? I think I'm falling in love with you." As soon as you said it, Pietro wasted no time in pulling you in for a kiss. He kissed you like his life depended on it. He couldn't recall being so happy ever in his life.
